This is where we go to heal our hurts. Or at least where we go when we want an absolutely fabulous cocktail in Aberdeen city centre. Soul is a bar that makes guests cross themselves when they enter, not least because it’s located in a former church on the corner of Union Street and Bon-Accord Street. Reconsecrated as a gathering place for refined drinks and soul food that walks the walk from British to American classics, the stunning venue has retained the stained glass windows and high ceilings of the ecclesiastical original for some seriously divine nights out. On the mixology side, Soul boasts the biggest selection of rums in Aberdeen and a great range of regional Scotch whiskies. On the food side you can get creative with Asian dishes, classic with American hot dogs, or get comfortable with the Soul signature burger. However your soul sings you’ll want to book a pew in advance!

Service was very good, we explained that we had limited time as we were going to theatre afterwards and also that there was a coeliac sufferer in the group. The food arrived in well in time and all of the group enjoyed their food.
Accommodating as only booked for 8 but ended up 10 & wasn't a problem. The staff were efficient & friendly & the food was homely. Would definitely go back again if in Aberdeen.
Fast service friendly and helpful staff, food was modern and of high standard And great atmosphere with live music too will definitely dine at Soul again soon
The food and drinks were amazing and the staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I will absolutely be going back and I highly recommend this venue!
Yesterday we had a Christmas dinner booked for 8. Upon arrival, we were shown to our table. Everything looked great but before we could sit down another customer informed the staff that table was already taken. After checking the reservation, we had to wait whilst another table got set up, which was absolutely fine with us. This table was crammed next to the fire escape, which was open at the time meaning it was freezing cold, with no decorations, just a couple of menus. We complained at this point to our waitress as to why we hadn't received any crackers etc. We were swiftly ignored and from that point on nobody came to take any food orders. The manager looked over but even he ignored the situation. Even as we left to find somewhere else to eat nobody bothered to check if anything was wrong. Never had such bad service whenever we've been to Soul whether it's been for drinks or food. Extremely disappointed and won't be going back anytime soon.
Food was very good and service was pretty decent considering just a few wait staff for a few big tables. Only issue was the high prices for a lunch meal. There were only a tiny handful of "lunch" items available (soup and sandwich combo for £6) - everything else was at "all day prices." Would probably go more often if more extensive lunch menu available.
Table was ready when we arrived. Lovely meal, we all enjoyed our choices. One girl did not like her chips as they tasted funny. We did not complain. Service was good. An enjoyable time.
Food was hot and very tasty. Staff friendly and helpful. We have been to this restaurant before and would go again for sure. Place busy which is a good sign.
Couldn't fault the service and the food was ok, not amazing but standard pub quality. Plan to try their afternoon tea next time as it looks like a good choice on the menu
Always consistently good food. The menu has lots of choice to cater to everyone. Service is great and quick for a lunchtime which is essential !
Food good. Misic too loud for a conversation when you have arranged to catch up and chat with friends. Staff were friendly and helpful to us.
Too loud music for a dining place, Not possible to have an conversation in there. Bad choice if you are a group of many people.
