For healthy Taiwanese cuisine that’s both affordable and delicious, Singapore foodies can’t get enough of Shi Li Fang on Orchard Road. Everyone knows that Orchard Road is full of shopping opportunities, and where there is shopping you will often find plenty of unhealthy food options. If you’d rather have something fresh that won’t make you balloon up before trying on some new clothes, Shi Li Fang offers the perfect solution.
Shi Li Fang is a Taiwanese steamboat restaurant, which means that guests are given individual (or
shared) hotpots from which they enjoy healthy, delicious specialties that are free from MSG or
artificial additives. Best of all, none of the menu offerings are fried or stir-fried, meaning that no
matter what you order, you can rest assured that it’s healthy. Shi Li Fang has a comfortable
atmosphere and friendly service, so it’s an ideal spot for having a quick bite with friends along
Singapore’s busy Orchard Road.
What sets Shi Li Fang apart from the rest is that guests are able to completely customise their foods. Diners choose between different sets, such as a beef tenderloin set, then they can choose their soup bases (more than one even), dipping sauces (there are aver 30 to choose from) and accompaniments like handmade noodles. All of the sets come with a huge serving of vegetables, leaving guests full and satisfied without being tired and bloated after lunch. With its location on Singapore’s Orchard Road, there’s no excuse not to give this busy Taiwanese eatery a try.
good cheap steamboat, excellent service and food is always fresh. Love the variety of soup bases and cant beat the price. Sauces are awesome too
Lunchtime special (before 4pm) at SGD 9.90 ++ is great. I love the wide choice of sauces and condiments. Recommend to those who like vegetables and mushrooms. At that price, we are given choice of one meat or fish with a basket of veg and mushrooms and few fishballs.
Great food at affordable price! However service was a little lacking, due to the busy crowd! :)
They provide good service and food is delicious. I find that the speed of serving was pretty fast too. would love to go back again.
it was my second time visiting Shi Li Fang. tried the steamboat first time along and find the soup is nice so i bought along my husband this time. We ordered 4 types of soup this time . There was not enough of staff working that day. We had ordered quite alot of dishes and our table was very small and it was full of food . Need to request staff to place to the food on the container roller instead. Food potion is very little this time, which was quite disappointing compare to the first time and need to keep calling staff as all were busy as lack of workers that day.
Food is of similar concept to the popular steamboat chain, hai di lao, except that it is much cheaper than what hai di lao offers. They have an individual hotpot selection, where customers can eat from their individual pot, but my group of friends went ahead with the big sharing pot option. Sauces selection was aplenty, which I enjoyed. Service was great. Knowing that we needed to accommodate more people, the service staff offered to combine tables to make our gathering a more cohesive one. However, what left me scarred was the hair that was found on the skin (and inner layers of skin) of the pork. The little strands of hair of the pork was not removed carefully. We ate one serving of pork without noticing because of our rumbling stomachs, but subsequently noticed the strands of unshaven black hair of the meat on our second serving. It left a hole in my appetite.
Made booking online does not guarantee your booking. You have to call to restaurant to make another booking after you had make the online booking. Or else your booking will be invalid because restaurant mention that they not able to retrieve online booking. Overall the food tonight are pleasant, have a good dinner with family members who visit there for the very first time, they are very satisfy with the food, however the service still need to be improve. Because one of the waitress accidentally pour the soup on my mother feet and luckily the soup is not hot!
Am a big fan of hotpots. The food is good, value for money. Loved that there are no extra fees for drinks or sauces (unlike other popular hot pot chains). Both set meals and ala carte options are very reasonably priced. Love the tomato soup, it's my favourite. Service is very efficient and friendly, without being intrusive at all.
The overall experience booking trough quandoo was fast and easy Shi Li Fang serve affordable steamboat too, favorite broth is the tomato and tonic chicken base.
The soups bases were pretty tasty, food is fresh, and service staff was helpful. Only downside is that meat portions are a bit small even though it was on half price. Every $38 spent accumulates you 1 stamp, which you can redeem on stuff toy plushies the restaurant has. The overall experience was pleasant and I will visit again.
