Not Shajan Indian & Bangladeshi Restaurant, not Shajan Contemporary South Asian Cuisine – just Shajan. The name speaks for itself, and this restaurant certainly has made a name for itself, winning the Bangladesh Caterers Association best caterer of the year award two years in a row thanks to the uncompromising ethos of owner Mohammad Ali. It is indeed true that some of the curries on offer at this world-class Indian restaurant can sting like a bee, but there are plenty of colourful South Asian delicacies on the extensive menu that float like a butterfly. Located in a fairly remote part of the picturesque Ribble Valley, along Longsight Road north of Blackburn and best reached via Mellor or Clayton-le-Dale, this stylish 200-plus seater restaurant is definitely worth the trip – provided you have a booking!
Our family - Indian food preferred - have been eating India cuisine forever. Family really enjoyed the clean dining, excellent service, atmosphere and, importantly, the delicious food.
Can't fault it, the service was great and the food was fantastic. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food they got and no one complained about anything. Go again.
Excellent welcome, no waiting around. First class meal with very good , courteous service. We have been many times over the years and never been disappointed.
Lovely evening with special friends to celebrate hubby's birthday. Food, staff & atmosphere outstanding & the bill was a nice surprise too. We will be back.
Food was excellent, very attentive and quick service, A restaurant like Shajan is busy for a reason, and that is because of its very high standards in food, cleanliness and service, Would definitely recommend to anyone, My sister is 78 and never ever been to an Indian restaurant before and was a little hesitant that she might not like the food, However she was delighted with the whole experience. (albeit starting on a very mild dish)
The Shajan was as good as ever, service was friendly and funny! The food was up to the usual high standards and we ate far too much. Packaging up the left over curry made for a good lunch today. Only gripe was that we ordered a bottle of champagne (it was a special occasion) and it was warm when served. It didn't spoil an overall great experience but would have made it even better!
We had heard good things about Shajan and had been meaning to visit for a while. We managed to get a table for 6 with a few hours notice on a Sunday, and were very happy with the food, service, and value for money. Excellent experience and we will definitely be back. Highly recommended!
The food was first rate a really good experience of curry cuisine. The waiters although excellent although asking for drinks orders as we were shown to the table. Our visiting friends who are keen on spicy foods thought that the Shajan was one of the best.
Great service and great food. I'd heard about Shajan for a while and we weren't disappointed, despite the restaurant being busy we were served really quickly and cheerfully. The food was fantastic and we all enjoyed it so much. We will definitely be back.
My husband And I thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Shajan. The food was authentic and delicious. The service couldn't be faulted and there was a lovely atmosphere, even on a Monday evening.
