Inside of Singapore’s largest shopping hub, VivoCity on HarbourFront Walk, Shabuya specialises in Japanese shabu shabu hot pot, traditional specialities and contemporary dishes. With the added appeal of panoramic views over to Sentosa Island and across Harbour Bay, Shabuya provides a beautiful setting for enjoying great Japanese cuisine right on the waterfront. Just steps from the Sentosa tram station, this HarbourFront Japanese restaurant brings freshness to the forefront.
Japanese minimalist design and modern furnishings form the basis of Shabuya’s chic and contemporary atmosphere. A magnet for the city’s foodies, Shabuya in Singapore’s HarbourFront excels both in style and cuisine, making it one of VivoCity’s most popular dining establishments. Situated right on the water on HarbourFront Walk, the restaurant’s location couldn’t get much better – this is one spot that’s perfect for special occasions or celebrations.
Shabuya in Singapore’s HarbourFront offers diners a long list of Japanese specialities, but shabu shabu is the main reason that so many locals flock to the restaurant regularly. Shabuya also serves an array of sashimi, salads and appetisers, plus decadent desserts to boot. With its location inside of VivoCity, the restaurant packs in a serious crowd – book in advance for an unforgettable feast at this popular dining destination.
Food was good and service was good too. Ambience was nice but I find the table for 2 abit small as it rarely have space for 3 plates of food. If the table were bigger abit it will be better, we feel bad that we had to keep troubling the waitress so frequently to bring food due to the size of the table.
Food was served promptly and the waitress was attentive. Very Good value for the buffet as wagyu beef, tiger prawns, angus beef, sashimi was served.
Really like this place. Food and portion size was of good quality. We were likely served by someone inexperienced, who left to 'check with someone else' regarding our question but never came back. We were eventually served by another person whom we 'caught' as he walked by, and he more than made up for the initial service lapse with his excellent, friendly and timely service. There is a sushi bar menu which wasn't given to us when we were shown to our table which the hostess may have forgotten. Both sushi and shabu sets are great value for money and the atmosphere is very conducive for cosy group gatherings.
Food was excellent, though a bit pricey. Service can be improved as most staff were foreigners and they didn't understand what we wanted. Had to refer to their seniors or managers. Otherwise, highly recommended!
Despite having significantly more customers on the Shabuya side, staffs manning the Tajimaya section were totally ignoring the Shabuya side. Several items listed on the buffet menu such as tai sashimi and fish slices for hotpot were not available during my visit.
I went with a friend and we ordered the buffet. The ingredients were really fresh. The meat portion was really big and generous. The meat portion is big enough for 4 pax to share, but the waiter did not warn me about it. Thus, after I finish eating the meat, i could not eat much after that. Buffet was not worth it for me. I would rather order the set meal for more variety. However, overall the service was great!
They are grossly under-staffed. Service staff tried their best but it was obvious they couldn't cope. The male service staff kept asking us to wait when we tried to order. Only after I approached the female service staff was I able to get some service. Even then, the kitchen couldn't keep up with our orders. Half the food we ordered didn't arrive. And not all the food was fresh. Their potato salad and edamame tasted like they were a few days old. The meet and seafood wasn't bad. I gave a rating of 3 to give credit to the femal service staff who tried her best to serve both restaurants - the Yakiniku side and the Shabu side. The company should look at improving the staff numbers.
Value for money. Especially during Friday night, the package and variety is great. Shabuya provide 10 plus source to choose from but with only 2 bow hard to contain, should provide more bow.
Ordered the premium set for 2. Portion was just nice, filling, and all was fresh and tasty. I love the salad, meat and tonkatsu soup! Went on a weekday night, very cosy. Service was good too with friendly smiley helpful staff.
The service is very good and staffs are very friendly and helpful.. The food is very well prepared and is very tasty.. A recommended place for family and friends.. Will try out the shabu shabu on my next visit.. =)
