Japanese minimalist design and modern furnishings form the basis of Shabuya’s chic and contemporary atmosphere. A magnet for the city’s foodies, Shabuya in Singapore’s HarbourFront excels both in style and cuisine, making it one of VivoCity’s most popular dining establishments. Situated right on the water on HarbourFront Walk, the restaurant’s location couldn’t get much better – this is one spot that’s perfect for special occasions or celebrations.
Shabuya in Singapore’s HarbourFront offers diners a long list of Japanese specialities, but shabu shabu is the main reason that so many locals flock to the restaurant regularly. Guests are welcome to order an array of ingredients – pork belly, US Angus sirloin, Australian striploin, tofu, pumpkin, and many others – which they can then simmer in their soup base of choice. Shabuya also serves an array of sashimi, salads and appetisers, plus decadent desserts to boot. With its location inside of VivoCity, the restaurant packs in a serious crowd – book in advance for an unforgettable feast at this popular dining destination.
Food was excellent, though a bit pricey. Service can be improved as most staff were foreigners and they didn't understand what we wanted. Had to refer to their seniors or managers. Otherwise, highly recommended!
The shabuya combination set was really worth the money! Super good soup bases and meat selection available. The waiters were also very friendly and approachable!
Superb and generous portion for the Jap wagyu... Melts in your mouth.Staffs are friendly .. Will visit again if have a chance to visit Singapore in the future.
The portions are huge, very value for money for big eaters! Quality meat and seafood served as well!
Despite having significantly more customers on the Shabuya side, staffs manning the Tajimaya section were totally ignoring the Shabuya side. Several items listed on the buffet menu such as tai sashimi and fish slices for hotpot were not available during my visit.
I went with a friend and we ordered the buffet. The ingredients were really fresh. The meat portion was really big and generous. The meat portion is big enough for 4 pax to share, but the waiter did not warn me about it. Thus, after I finish eating the meat, i could not eat much after that. Buffet was not worth it for me. I would rather order the set meal for more variety. However, overall the service was great!
They are grossly under-staffed. Service staff tried their best but it was obvious they couldn't cope. The male service staff kept asking us to wait when we tried to order. Only after I approached the female service staff was I able to get some service. Even then, the kitchen couldn't keep up with our orders. Half the food we ordered didn't arrive. And not all the food was fresh. Their potato salad and edamame tasted like they were a few days old. The meet and seafood wasn't bad. I gave a rating of 3 to give credit to the femal service staff who tried her best to serve both restaurants - the Yakiniku side and the Shabu side. The company should look at improving the staff numbers.
Ordered the premium set for 2. Portion was just nice, filling, and all was fresh and tasty. I love the salad, meat and tonkatsu soup! Went on a weekday night, very cosy. Service was good too with friendly smiley helpful staff.
The service is very good and staffs are very friendly and helpful.. The food is very well prepared and is very tasty.. A recommended place for family and friends.. Will try out the shabu shabu on my next visit.. =)
Bought $150 cash vouchers from Groupon for $105 and redemption was easy. Nice food and friendly staff (although the staff who took my set meal order did not correctly gave my preference of seafood but I'm cool with it). Will recommend to others and re-visit myself.
This is not a 1st time i been there and i quite like the foods and environment as service was really good, environment is pretty good and important is foods is fresh. Overall a very good experience.
The meat were really great, quite worth it if you're someone who loves meat. However, service can be a little slow, dishes may not be delivered if you order a lot at one go. Try ordering two items and you'll have them really quick.
The quality of food is good and the portion of food is definitely bigger than other restaurants do. One thing bad is the service. Ordered food with the same service crew and she can miss it twice. Will come back again despite the service.
The food was good, however, waiters were a bit slow in their orders and serving. Weekend is crowded. The Shabuya has individual pot and various soup bases.
searching shabu-shabu at vivo, found Shabuya, decided to celebrate our coliq's bday over there.. nice food, big portion, good environment.. nice sesame sauce with chili.. (4 stars)
We had shabu shabu dinner on 16th Oct 16. We ordered beef and chicken from the buffet menu. It was fresh and soup was good. The only problem was both times they forget to serve us the garlic fried rice and udon that we ordered even till the end of our meal.
Food was good, as was service. There are 2 seperate pots instead of 1 divided pot, so it's something different. On one hand, you each have your own pot, on the other, the table is sometimes too cluttered. Would visit again.
Great service! Amiable and attentive waiters! Although we were seated outside, the waiters came by every now and then to check if we need to top up anything and to clear the emptied plates.
Lots of variety and food are very fresh. Love their garlic rice. one point that can be improved is serving speed. There seems to be not enough waiter/waitress to cope with the flow. Do make reservations un advance
Good service with prompt table setting with reservation. Great fresh meat and vegetables for shabu shabu with choices of soup base But table was too small for 4 And insufficient sauces for the various dishes Overall , enjoyable
Food was good, service was terrible and 2 of the burners on the table we were initially seated didn't work, so my parents had to sit at a separate table. They seemed a little understaffed- we kept having to ask for the same things over and over again. But to the credit of the wait staff they were very polite and generally apologetic.
The food and atmosphere were good. I like their service. But it seems not enough staff to handle the lunch crowd and clear the tables. Overall, it was an enjoyable lunch. I will be back.
Nice environment with friendly staff. Fresh food but do not order too.much. (although we mention foods that we want only, they still add on themselves) Will recommend friends to go.
Weekend need for staff. Drinks ordered not delivered, have to ask serving staff wasabi give very little, ask for more and waiter forget to bring more. Raise hand more than 3-5 mins to get staff attention. no special sauce or chilli like Jpot.
Portions were large and quality was good. The staff were attentive to our needs. Only issue was we did not get a preferred table as some of the cookers were not in working condition.
Excellent. We are satisfied with the foods. The services was good too. Next trip was planning try the BBQ buffet. Thank you shabuya!! See you next trip.
Service is friendly and attentive although they seem very understaffed. The meats is good relatively to other similar Shabu Shabu establishments. The only complaint is that the place is pretty dark and the air ventilation is bad. This cause the restaurant to steam up very fast, leaving the customers perspiring in discomfort.
Service was slow as the restaurant was somewhat crowded. Maybe they were shorthanded. Food quality not too bad. They only cut the meats when you place an order, that way the meat are served "fresh". Seafood are also fresh.
Food is fresh and have alot of variety. Staff is helpful. Look up for their promotion which is value for money. They closed at 16:00 for lunch, so plan your timing.
Food is great. Service is very good too. Suggest the front reception to be more tactful when customer who booked seat for 6, not to tell them to be seated separately.
Overall service is slow. Food is decent. Best to go for weekday lunch as the service is more prompt. I will consider visiting Shabuya again.
Really nice place and high quality food! Unfortunately, we had to wait for our orders quite long and they forgot many dishes, we had to reorder them 3 times.
Nice atmosphere outdoor seating with views of harbor. Attentive service. Value for money with the sake but bite choices limited. Overall worth a visit to at least try once.
I was late for 15 mins, when I showed the waitress the app, no question asked, she happily bring us to the table that I reserved. Thank you Quandon.
great food, fresh and value for money. the service staff were very efficient and friendly too. i had a great time there, and will recommend it to others
Food quantity and quality are good. Except staff response is slow. You need the right time and eye contact to catch their attention. Overall okay. Will visit again.
Value for money buffet only on weekends. Might be a little slow in service when it's packed but overall all good and satisfactory. Give it a try
the food portion is big and it is good overall, however the dessert served was not hokkaido milk pudding as stated in the menu. They served a scoop of matcha ice cream to us after informing them that dessert can be served to us.
the shabu shabu set for 2 was good fr the 3 of us. meats were fresh and loved the shoyu based soup. will definitely head back
There seemed to be a hold up on a weekend night with food taking more than half an hour to an hour to appear on tables, even though the restaurant was nowhere near capacity. Hopefully this was a one-off rather than the norm.
Food was good and service was prompt. Ingredients generally fresh and current promotion (discount off set menus) is value for money. Will revisit next time
Friendly staffs, cosy dining and good quality of various kinds if meats. Very worth the visit for first timer and also regular diners out there.
Service abit slow... other than that, everything is great! Their food is fresh, atmosphere is nice, super worth the price.... Will definitely go back again...
Great food. Airconditioning was too warm tho but the service quality and standard of food made up for it. Really enjoyed myself at the dinner.
The food is good but they are understaffed and 1 particular waiter was extremely unfriendly. Also note that they have removed ice cream as after meal dessert for ala carte buffet
The staff has little knowledge on the menu. However she is very helpful and put a smile on her face when she serve. The other staff which I think is a senior sulk when she serve. Overall experience, service needs improvement
We had a set for 2 pax. Food quality of the set was excellent including the salad, salmon sashimi, tempura and garlic rice. The downside was the below average service.
Prompt and friendly service. We are glad that we have made reservation via Quandoo, or else, the queue would have been pretty long. Will be back again soon!
Quality of food and taste are good! I enjoyed the wagyu beef and salmon the most. Quiet environment and service is acceptable. Will go back to visit again.
Had the shabu shabu. Very generous portions - especially the meat. Service was also commendable. However, the miso soup base was rather bland, and could be improved.
