First opened in Singapore at the Apollo Hotel all the way back in 1972, Restaurant Hoshigaoka has grown into a chain of successful Japanese restaurants with a whole lot of history. and lucky for Toa Payoh’s Japanese cuisine fanatics, you’ll find a branch located inside SAFRA on Toa Payoh Lorong. Restaurant Hoshigaoka pays homage to age old Japanese traditions, preparing each dish using time-tested techniques, with everything from a range of different types of sushi and sashimi to donburi, agemono, teppanyaki, an array of noodle dishes and other Japanese dishes on the menu. For a family feast, a trip to Restaurant Hoshigaoka inside SAFRA is the perfect choice – just remember to book in advance in order to guarantee a table!
spice and dine. love it. nice and reasonably priced. most importantly, superb healthy
love the place for the great healthy don and reasonable prices
the servings not as generous today but taste as good!
Belle attended to us. super nice lady. Her servings are super generous. thumbs up
thanks to Belle for the great service and generous servings. the past few experience with other staff was the servings was more little than usual that my children were not full. Belle attended to us and was attentive to our needs and servings were reasonably good that my family was very satisfied. tks.
Restaurant is centrally located at Safra Toa Payoh Club and the food on the whole was pretty delectable and price was reasonable. However, as Safra Toa Payoh is similar to a family club, it can get noisy in the evenings when parents fetch their kids from the childcare centre located within the club and adjourn for dinner at the restaurant.
my family tried the gyu don and steam cod fish which was great. the hamachi took a while and seem a bit too cooked. nothwithstanding the service was great, with the team led by Belle. 👍
Saw Hoshigaoka on Quandoo & decided to give it a try. The Goma beef was a pleasant surprise! Soft & tender; worth every dollar. The tendon was nothing special but still not bad. A good meal & is worth a visit!
food is great. there is quite a variety of japanses dishes to choose from. reasonably priced. service is good as the staff are very friendly and aporoachable. recommended.
Food was great but service was poor. Made a reservation for 6 at 7.30pm but was made to wait till 7.45pm for my table to be ready. Took 1 hour for the 1st dish to be served and another 20 mins for the remaining. But they missed out 2 chawanmushi and we had to wait a till 9.30pm for the whole order to be completed. Restaurant was obviously not prepared for the crowd on Mother's Day. Give the place a skip on peak periods.
