It’s hard to miss Singapore’s Marriott Tang Plaza hotel, no matter how distracting the rest of the retail and restaurant opportunities along Orchard Road might be. It’s Chinese pagoda design is striking enough, but so are the culinary possibilities housed inside. One of these is Pool Grill, a gastronomic gem boasting an extensive range of western-style dishes, including irresistible, great-value set lunch and dinners menus plus a handpicked selection of wines. Set around an open-air pool on the fifth floor, Pool Grill takes alfresco dining to new heights, matching lavish gastronomy with an elegant, resort-style ambience. Signature dishes such as the seared lamb loin come highly recommended, and it’s vital to book for the popular Sunday brunch with favourites like eggs benedict and Singapore chili crab omelette.
