More about the restaurant: Pondok Gurame Indonesian Restaurant
Started by chef Mdm Chan Sui Yen at East Coast Recreation Centre in 1991 before moving to Roxy Square and its current location at the Civil Service Club in Changi, Pondok Gurame is based on authentic Indonesian food, cooked by Indonesian chefs who know what Indonesian food tastes like. At the same time, the emphasis is on health and wellbeing, since gurame is much lower in cholesterol than nila fish (found at other Indonesian restaurants in Singapore), and Pondok Gurame also replace the common emping belinjo (similar to chips) with healthier emping garut, much higher in fibre and lower in cholesterol. Pondok Gurame really is a place to eat food that’s both incredibly delicious and great for your health – if you head over to Pondok Gurame Indonesian Restaurant on Netheravon Road in Changi, you can be sure of a superb feed.
