Pasta Brava is the definition of good pasta. It’s been on the block down Tanjong Pagar’s Craig Road for over two decades now, and this family-run Italian restaurant in Singapore shows no signs of slowing down, except to offer guests attentive service and a relaxed, intimate and all-Italian dining experience. Pasta Brava ‘s homely restaurant is split over two levels, necessary when the weekend’s hordes of diners clamour for tables – this is one of the city’s most beloved Italian joints, a restaurant whose classically-structured menu is as seasonal and colourful as those you find back in the old country.
In Italy, a meal begins at the beginning, and is liable to continue for a good few hours. Relaxed, lugubrious and epicurean is the tempo and mood that presides over Pasta Brava’s Craig Road restaurant, a neighbourhood ristorante well known to Tanjong Pagar locals and aficionados of Italian cuisine from across Singapore. Start naturally, naturally, with Pasta Brava’s fresh anitipasti platters – olives and grilled vegetables, cold cuts and cheeses, fresh baked Italian breads – a sociable way to share in the beginning of an authentic Italian meal with family and friends.
Salads are next, some of which can suffice as a fresh and healthful meal all in themselves, others best picked at alongside Pasta Brava’s delicious and generously apportioned pasta and risotto dishes and main courses of meat, fish and vegetables. Making the most of Singapore’s easy access to a wealth of seafood, we recommend the mixed seafood linguine regina del mare, with prawns, clams, scallops, squid and crayfish. Other delectable maritime delights can be found in the simple prawns sauteed in butter and brandy with plenty of garlic and parsley, or the oven-baked scallops in a variation on the French bechamel. Squid ink spaghetti with vongole, clams, is another striking addition to this Tanjong Pagar Italian restaurant’s offering. As always with Italian restaurants in Singapore, we like to recommend, if we can, the house tiramisu as an endgame-measure of the overall dining experience. Here we can confidently declare, bravo, Pasta Brava!
Have been to this restaurant several times over the years . Good service as always, the place is perfect for any occasion/celebration . Food doesn't fail me at all. Visited recently for my birthday celebration , and they offered a slice of cake on the house! Couldn't wish for more :)
Pasta was great - we had one with crab and another homemade pasta with scallop and shrimp. Calamari was soft and chewy enough - prob best in town! Would have gotten a perfect score if their desserts were up to par... Tiramisu was a little dry and chocolate fondant too sweet...
The service was commendable and friendly contrary to some reviews I read. The food was genuinely very good. We loved the lamb, carbonara, squid ink pasta and tiramisu that we ordered. The lasagna was a tad too sour because of the tanginess of the tomatoes. Overall I give a thumbs up.
my first time visiting this place to celebrate boyfriend birthday, i really have to say this is the most wonderful place to enjoy the Italian cuisine. The staff's service was great. pasta was absolutely amazing. and a complimentary tiramisu cake was given.
It was nice that they were very welcoming when I entered the restaurant and the waitress showed us the popular dishes. However, the crayfish spaghetti in parchment paper was nothing special to me. What's worst is that our waitress forgot to give us our bread. I understand that the squid ink spaghetti is highly raved about, I will be back to try it.
After 23 years it is still a great place for italian food. Very cosy! To top it off when they realise its my birthday, they waive off the $11 tiramisu even after the bill was presented!! 6 stars for great customer relations!
I had the best time celebrating my sister's birthday, the staff was attentive & present. Definitely won't be my last time dining at Pasta Brava!
Love the Food at Pasta Brava n Price are very reasonable. Service Wise quite Good n Staffs there very attentive to the Tables they Serve.
We were there for dinner. And by 10pm the staff were constantly preparing the tables around us for next day's lunch. We felt as if we were overstaying our welcome. Some staff were just hovering around as if waiting for us to leave. Other than that service was good. Food was not as good as it used to be but still ok.
The food was fantastic esp the pan-fired duck liver and half moon shaped pasta, however the service was questionable; while the female staff were friendly the male staff had rather a bad attitude. You could also see a disparity in service, they were more attentive to the regular customers.
