If you’re going out to eat in the city of Singapore, you’re going to be spoiled for choice. If you’re in Bugis, then this is even more true than usual, with countless restaurants to choose between: and few of them can compete with Otaru Suisan on Victoria Street. Their take on Asian and Japanese food is high on freshness and diversity, and their chefs are experts in taking superb ingredients and turning them into great dishes: so book a table now.
Singapore is a diner’s paradise, and it isn’t surprising that locals and visitors alike prefer to eat out and about whenever possible. From the high-end restaurants of the Downtown Core, to the hawker centres that dot the city, and the Chinese, Malay and Indian community enclaves, there are plenty of ways to wassail. And, if you’re in the colourful, popular dining spot of Bugis and feel like a bit of Japanese food, then Otaru Suisan is as good a choice as any.
Otaru Suisan has plenty going for it. The food, of course, is a stylish and fresh take on the Japanese favourites that we know and love – sushi, sashimi and plenty more besides. Their location is superb – by the Singapore National Library, directly between Bugis and Bras Basah train stations on Victoria Street – and , if all of this wasn’t enough, their decor is sophisticated and understated. Book you table now to avoid disappointment.
The restaurant location is convenience, the desert is look cute until don't even want to eat it. In overall, my comment is good and will visit again.
Very quality food and attentive staff make our overall experience here truly enjoyable. Otaru suisan is not your ordinary place for Japanese cuisine as they serve up really great food!
I would like to comment the waitress name Maggie her service is suoerb my guest really like her. Will visit the restaurant again next time . We really enjoyed our food.
Lovely ambience , especially the low tables. We ordered the special lunch set priced at $13.90++ , which was awesome value for the food quality .however, waiting time was somewhat long considering that it was like 2pm and there wasn't much diners around.overall pleasant experience but can work on the speed of preparing food
Service was good. Someone came by to topup our green tea now and then. However, I ordered salmon & mushroom rice in a wooden pot... had to wait 25 mins (stated on menu) but I feel the serving portion was rather little.
There are quite limited Japanese food options. It is a rather small bowl of ramen with little soup. Food is not bad but not particularly outstanding. Service is acceptable, they do top up the cups of green tea that we had.
Prompt service and nice environment esp the low japanese table which adds to the feel of eating real japanese cuisine. The special promotion lunch sets were also great value
Value for money. For $15 plus can get a set dinner is really worth. Like the embiance and privatecy. A big room of our own. Will recommend
Service not bad. Quality of food good. Fast serving of food. Set dinner worth the value. Only the porridge a bit salty. Overall will go again.
