In Singapore there are restaurants aplenty, and often the most difficult aspect of dining out in the city is choosing where it is that you want to go. Nice to know then, that there is a restaurant with an Open Door Policy down in Tiong Bahru, where you can go and enjoy yourself without pretension or presumption. Open Door Policy – ODP, for brevity’s sake – on Yong Siak Street boasts a 100% dairy-free and gluten-free men, with a lot of the produce coming direct from the on-site vertical farm! Whether you head on in for Sunday brunch, a full evening meal or simply for a drink of an evening, you’re sure not to be disappointed by the wholesome Western and contemporary Asian fare you find in front of you. Book a table today.
The open door policy at, well, Open Door Policy, is a testament to their laidback attitude and their welcome, which is as warm as any found in Singapore. Their philosophy is pretty simple: completely gluten-free and dairy-free food made with farm fresh ingredients and cooked with time-honoured techniques in their show kitchen, a bar stocked with wines and spirits of an international bent and decor that is chic and sophisticated. The best way to experience Open Door Policy on Yong Siak Street in the centre of Tiong Bahru is with a big group of your mates, so gather them together and head on over to make the most of this most modern of restaurants.
The welcome and the atmosphere are what might get you through the door at Open Door Policy, but the food on offer down on Yong Siak Street is what will keep you coming back time and again. The menu is curated by Cynthia Chua of the Spa Esprit Group and ODP chefs Ryan and Daniele Sperindio, and is inspired by Western and contemporary Asian cuisines. Moreover, the new ethos at ODP is all about alternative food sources, substitute ingredients, fermentation and pickling. Favourites include the vega macaroni topped with a portobello mushroom Bolognese gratin and bechamel sauce, ribeye steak with a herb salad and hazelnut dressing, and the sago and coconut with fresh mango for dessert. Reserve a table for you and your friends at Open Door Policy and take the trip out to Tiong Bahru for a meal that everyone can enjoy.
I absolutely love their brunch menu! Been here multiple times to try their whole menu! Always a good meal at ODP and love the overall nice vibes of the place as well!
Had their set lunch it is very reasonable for the quality of food! Love the food, service was prompt. Will definitely return to try out the other dishes on the menu!
The food is still very good even though there are far fewer choices since they rebranded. The staff were lovely and friendly. I’m not sure if they still have the same organic food sources that they did.
Great vibe. Love the rows of vegetables that's grown in the restaurant which the chef uses for the dishes. The gluten-free and dairy-free menu makes for interesting dishes that are delish. Great place to go for lunch.
So wonderful to find a restaurant totally gluten and dairy free. Loved the food and service and will go again, however it will have to be for special occasions as it is at the expensive end.
Great service. Wonderful, unique decor. Food was truly different and delicious. I had the king crab orchecetti. Highly recommend it with the rose pinot that they offer by the glass.
Food & coffee were great, service staff was attentive but probably not that kids' friendly (we had brunch on a Sun with the kids) in terms of menu. We still had a great overall experience :)
very attentive service, creative menu. tried the lightly smoked salmon eggs benedict which was okay. desserts tasted better, the sundae (which looks different from my concept of a sundae - hence kudos for the creativity) and mango and black sesame ice cream were nice
Though the waiting time is abit long, but the quality of food make up for it. did not like the avocado sorbet which my friend order, do go for the traditional flavor, chocolate is nice.
A really eye catching ambience. Ordered the salmon which was cooked to perfection and tasted really healthy. A must visit place for the health conscious. Would definitely visit again to try the other dishes.
