An outpost of Japanese flair in the rarified air of Beverley, Ogino has been offering up sushi, sashimi and other favourites to the East yorkshire public. Lead by head chef Reiko Ogino-Stamford, their team of chefs use the abundant fresh ingredients that are available to them in Yorkshire and then apply classical Japanese techniques to them. Make the journey out from Hull to Butcher’s Row, just remember to book a table first.
Japanese food is a food trend that continues to grow and grow in the UK, and for those living in Beverley near Hull, there is one restaurant that stands above all others. Ogino was opened by Reiko Ogino-Stamford in 2012, and has gone from strength to strength since, bringing the authentic flavours of Japan to these quiet corner of East Yorkshire. Check out their menu and we’re sure you’ll agree with us.
They offer only the finest in Japanese cuisine at Ogino on Butcher’s Row in Beverley, so let us talk you through a little of it. Sushi and sashimi are permanent favourites, but the real strength is in the lesser-known, more authentic offerings. We recommend the Wagyu beef hache, a take on steak tartare served with Yorkshire garden peas. If you’re in Beverley, Hull or beyond, then Ogino is a superb dining options: book your table now.
Great service with helpful and knowledgeable staff , went above and beyond what they needed to do to make the night special will definitely go back again
Excellent throughout from the warm welcome to the attentive staff to the amazing food. We can’t wait to return. The food is beautifully presented. Interesting menu. Wow!
Food amazing as always, staff very helpful, friendly and attentive - 5 stars!
Outstanding food, presentation and service, couldn't fault it. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
If you want a dining experience of the finest order then you MUST visit Ogino, this is by far the best restaurant in Beverley in my view. Top quality food with top quality customer service. As you would expect this will be reflected in the price but given the very high standards this is value for money. Perhaps not for everyone's pocket but if you want something really special this is definitely the place to go. Have visited Ogino on several occasions. Will I be visiting again? You bet!!
Special treat for my daughter's birthday as we had both long wanted to visit Ogino. We had the Zensai sharing platter as we just couldn't decide from the menu. Have to say it was an inspired choice as the selection was diverse, tasty and satisfying. There was a similar dilemma from the main menu as everything was enticing. My daughter settled on the Sea Bass and I had the Duck, which we both thoroughly enjoyed. We will definitely be bringing others with us when we visit again as we would like to try other dishes.
Another great experience at the Ogino, the menu has changed since our last visit, but the standard is just as good. We enjoy trying different types of food so the Ogino fits the bill perfectly. It was very busy on the Sunday evening of our visit. We certainly intend to go again in the near future.
I love Ogino. Wonderful food and ambience. The only problem (which is not a problem for us), is that you cannot be in too much of a hurry to finish your meal. The food is freshly prepared and takes a little while to serve especially when they are busy. We love to have a long leisurely dinner with no pressure to complete. The sushi is wonderful as is the choice of main course. The fried rice is beautifully cooked.
‘‘This was our 5th visit and once again Ogino didn’t let us down! The food was excellent and the service great, we had two vegetarians with us and because there weren’t a lot of options for them both, Ogino added two Additional vegetarian sushi rolls specifically for them.
This visit we took some friends who are real foodies was their first time to Ogino, we all had a fantastic meal. The food is outstanding service spot on, anyone who has not been to Ogino are missing out on something special, a must visit restaurant.
