Montezuma’s revenge is never a good thing – as anyone who has travelled as far as Mexico will know – but at Montezuma’s in North Adelaide, you need not worry about that. They offer only the best in Mexican cuisine to the hungry public of South Australia, with a menu that is packed with well-known dishes such as enchiladas, burritos and chili tacos as well as less-spotted specialities such as tamale pie, mole poblano and albondigas meatballs. Book a table now for you and your mates and take a trip out to Melbourne Street in North Adelaide to pay Montezuma a visit.
Adelaide is a long way from Acapulco to say the least – nobody really goes loco down here in South Australia, no matter how long you hang around – but at Montezuma’s on Melbourne Street in North Adelaide, you can get a taste of life south of the border, down Mexico way. Their food takes in all the classics of the genre, with all the favourites that one might hope to see on a Mexican menu. That means tostadas and nachos to start, quesadillas, tacos and burritos with plenty of filling to follow and churros to finish.
Of course, with Mexican food, the quesadillas et al are only part of the story – the delivery method, if you will. The fillings are equally important, and at Montezuma’s, they have your favourites. Fill your burrito with veggie-friendly frijoles, or meaty shredded beef and chicken, as well as rice, beans, salads and a huge range of salsa options. Throw into the mix the Montezuma range of cocktails, sangria, Mexican beers and local Aussie wines. Reserve yourself a table on Melbourne Street for an authentic taste of Mexico in Adelaide.
Expect noise but was really loud couldnt hear across table, made me want to eat and get out
Delicious Mexican food, helpful staff and now even easier to book a table! Great vegan and vegetarian options and the sangria is the best I've ever had.
Excellent Mexican food. Generous serves and lots of options. As a lover of this cuisine I find Montezuma to serve the best interpretation at the best value
I liked the Decor and the atmosphere. I really enjoyed the strawberry Margarita. The food was good although not spicy hot enough. And my vegetarian meal had too much cheese, which is good if your a real cheese lover.
Great service. The lady who showed us to our table and who we paid at the end was a happy, friendly and very helpful person. Bar service also great, nothing was too hard. Great food. I have been there many times and loved the food as per usual. Great decorations and design. I do think though that more selections are needed on the wine list, particularly with the whites and the bubbly. Maybe a little quiet background Mexican style music would add to the overall package?
Food amazing, as always. Always flexible with adjustments to menu items to cater for personal tastes. Service is excellent with friendly staff. Spoilt with choice for vegetarian/vegan options. Love that kids are provided with their own menu/activity booklet - every time they look forward to working on all of the fun activities in the booklet. Only downside is the tight fit of seating for 8 people on 1 table, and had a table of 10 squeezed in behind us, but certainly wouldn't stop us from continuing to go there for a great, atmospheric experience and delicious food.
We had a wonderful lunch. Our son with autism was treated like a rock-star and was allowed to take home the Sombrero hat that he wore whilst eating his lunch. We were really impressed with the extensive vegetarian/vegan menu, as well as the kids' menu and activities sheet. The atmosphere was great and the prices were more than reasonable - we'll be sure to return soon :-)
I always love the food here and the service has really improved since when I first started going a couple of years ago. The cheese dip / queso fundido is to die for. I did deduct one point this time because the usually delicious non-alcoholic sangria didn't taste as good, seemed like it was made a bit differently and was too lemon-y.
I have been a regular at North Adelaide for some years but have noticed a few changes last time I went. I think the franchise may have changed hands / new management. The corn chips with the entree dip were thinner and less tasty than before. I always get an enchilada and the size of it has reduced by about half. The queso fundido is amazing as always, and we enjoy the non-alcoholic sangria.
We went north adelaide restaurant for my son and daughters birthday dinner... Both of them are first time dinners and they loved the experience of tasting/eating the food they ordered and the staff was very helpful from the mo.ent we entered. Thanks montezumers for your customer service....
