About Little Yang Sing

Manchester’s Chinatown is rightly famous, and regarded as one of the best in Europe. The Little Yang Sing – on George Street, just a Peking Duck’s chuck from the Chinese Arch – is one of the big names in Chinatown, and it’s easy to see why. With a huge dim sum menu, varied banquets to suit all sizes and budgets and a solid selection of Cantonese and Chinese favourites, you’ll need to book a table in advance to make sure of getting into this city centre standout.

Dear customers, to book a table on Friday after 6pm, Saturday and Sunday, please contact the restaurant directly.

Further Information

With as many and as varied an array of Chinese restaurants as there are in Manchester’s Chinatown, one has to be special to stand out. Little Yang Sing, in the heart of the city centre on George Street, just moments from the Chinese Arch and Portland Street, has been ploughing a furrow for exceptional Cantonese food for years, and continues to serve up food that takes the breath away. Diners can choose from their menu of dim sum, meat and vegetarian dishes, Peking Duck and seafood specialities, or even better, combine them all in one of their sharing banquets.

Don’t let the name fool you: Little Yang Sing is by no means a hole-in-the-wall joint. It is little, but only compared to proprietor Warren Yeung’s other family restaurant, the five-storey Chinatown behemoth of the Yang Sing. The Chinese flavours are huge though, with house specialities such as beef in black pepper sauce and and chicken with lemon and honey keeping the punters of Manchester coming back to George Street for more. This is a city centre lunch hotspot, so make sure you book your table: it isn’t as little the name suggests, but it certainly does fill up!

Excellent food in a great pleasant place to eat. I would thoroughly recommend eating here when in Manchester. Bit pricey for the set menu but quality was superb

We had a great time at Little Yang Sing, the staff went out of their way to ensure we had a lovely meal. The food was lovely and the meals came in a timely manner and the order was all correct. They sang 'happy bitthday' to my niece and gave her ice cream which was lovely. They didn't rush us which was good as it was the last night of my sisters family visit from the USA, so we could chat & relax. Thanks for a great meal.

We have been long standing clients of LYS. However the last time we visited felt that some dishes were expensive for what they were. Eg £14 plus the price of rise for a King Prawn dish.... They have improve on the service and we are still very fond of them but we will have to think again next time we want to go there....

The restaurant was well laid and with an atmosphere that fitted our visit. They had a special Valentines menu which was well thought out. The staff were warm and welcoming and professional throughout. The food was excellent and we'll be returning!

We enjoyed an excellent lunch from the a la carte menu; dim sum, duck then mains. Everything was delicious, especially the bean curd with minced pork in chili sauce! Service was friendly and very attentive so we will definitely return.

Excellent service with a smile from booking via the Internet to leaving. The food was delicious and the restaurant immaculate. Highly recommended, we will certainly eat there again but maybe order fewer dishes as the portions are quite generous.

Went with a party of 12 people and although it was a Tuesday night and relatively quiet, the restaurant served us very well. They helped with menu suggestions and the service was excellent. Would definitely visit again - Thanks
