Since 1990, Les Bouviers has been providing foodies and gourmands from nearby Wimborne, Poole and Bournemouth with a fine dining experience. Set within five acres of beautifully landscaped gardens south of the village of Oakley, Les Bouviers is the perfect place for celebrating a special occasion, whether it's an intimate family meal or a big, group function. On the menu you’ll find refined British and French-inspired classics, crafted from the best seasonal produce. Start off with some sauteed Scottish scallops with swede & sage puree and a grilled asparagus sweet & sour sauce, before moving on to a mouth-watering main like the duo of Highland venison (wild rump of venison and homemade venison, apricot & thyme sausages with Parisienne potatoes and rosemary sauce). You’ll find Les Bouviers located on Arrowsmith Road – to avoid disappointment, booking a table in advance is recommended.
If you feel like treating yourself, Les Bouviers on Arrowsmith Road in Wimborne’s Oakley area is the glamourous destination restaurant of your dreams. Serving up splendid French cuisine for the past 27 years, the two rosette chef and patron at Les Bouviers, James Coward, is a perfectionist when it comes to keeping guests well-fed and content. Not only is the food at Les Bouviers absolutely incredible, but the service and the setting are what make the whole experience come together beautifully, and why you’ll return time and time again for leisurely dinners, or special celebrations. Dining out with people who have special dietary requirements? The attentive staff at Les Bouviers are able to cater for vegans, vegetarians, people who are gluten free or diabetic. What’s more, all the dishes are homemade from scratch, so omitting an ingredient for people with specific allergies is no problem whatsoever.
If you’re planning a fancy dinner around Wimborne, you really can’t go wrong with this Oakley restaurant. The French menu offers fine dining at prices which won’t break the bank, with a remarkably-well priced set menu. Choose from delicious dishes such as honey-glazed magret duck breast with potato dauphinoise, braised red cabbage and black cherry sauce or pan-fried wild hake with chorizo risotto served with braised fennel, sugar snap peas and pimento oil. With food that good, booking ahead at this restaurant is highly advised!
This is not the first time that we have dined at Les Bouviers, both at its previous location and the present one. Thus anticipated a high standard of service and cuisine. We were not disappointed. The elegant surroundings, cheerful and efficient service, together with scrumptious dishes, made our anniversary very special.
Had a lovely Sunday lunch. As soon as we walked in we just knew? It was very welcoming, cosy and staff are just amazing and plentiful. The food was a delight. We have booked a family function it makes all the difference when you feel cared for. Thank you guys.
Excellent food, excellent service, and a wonderful ambience. If you are are an adventurous eater I would highly recommend the seven course surprise menu. My fourth surprise menu at Les Bouvier and I have never been disappointed.
We had a surprise taster menu which was lovely. We were asked if there was anything that we couldn't eat, however everything that came out was beautifully cooked and well presented.
We arrived early and were warmly welcomed by all the staff from the "Fire-Lighter" to the Office Manager! We had a superb meal, beautifully prepared, served and delicious. On the down side I thought the home made bread was a bit "tough", but I think that these new fangled sour dough recipes do create a "leather back" crust. I suppose I should go out more! I'll certainly go back to Les Bouviers as the value for money was EXCELLENT!
Fantastic family run business could not have asked for better a service at any time, attention to detail and the effort of making you feel welcome was done with out any effort, fantastic evening meal with everything being spot on would highly recommend and i don't usually do that as I'm a fussy so and so....e Malcolm & Sue
Great food as ever, especially the main course. Bar area needs to be bigger if it is to be used to receive guests and for them to choose their meals when it is busy. Great selection of cheeses. Nice wine at reasonable price. The younger waiters need a bit more training and we're not as attentive as they could be. Coffee was poor - weak and tasteless. Needs sorting urgently as not good value at £8.00 for cafetiere for 2.
The food was excellent but it did feel a little bit fawlty towers-ish. On arrival we were unsure were to go, it was unclear that there was a bar/ lounge for dinners or if we had arrived at a care home as one of our party commented. Having said that we could not fault the food it was exceptionally good .
Excellent food, excellent service. We were looked after from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. If you are adventurous with food I would recommend the 7-course "secret menu". No more problems wondering what to choose from the menu!
There was nothing to complain about. The service, food and surroundings were exemplorary. The sauce in the seared escalope of salmon was divine. Thank you for making our lunch such a pleasurable one. I shall certainly be coming again. Diana
