About L'angelus

An outpost of Paris in Singapore, L’Angelus is a French restaurant with no little amount of style and panache. When Philippe Hoyez and Gabriel de Balasy opened in Paris in 1993, they can’t have imagined that they would end up where they are today. They were stage magicians then – no joke – and had been for 10 years, but they chose to branch out into gastronomy, conjuring up dishes rather than pulling rabbits from hats. They began L’Angelus in Paris, but have since transported it to Singapore, where they now hold pride of place on Club Street in Chinatown, offering French cuisine to the hungry masses of the city-state.

Gabriel de Balasy was previously a critic at Gault Millau, and he has brought this expertise to L’Angelus on Club Street in Chinatown. They offer all your French favourites, from foie gras to tartare, from confit duck to cassoulet. They boast a long list of cheese, an even longer wine list and a full dessert selection as well, so make a move to Club Street and L’Angelus for one of the best French feeds in Singapore.

Wonderful restaurant with an exceptional menu. We ordered both from the dinner menu and the a la carte. All guests enjoyed their meal especially snails steak and crepe Suzette. Service was excellent and attention was given to all guests.

Pleasant and special. A good place for for family and close friends. Menu and food served weren't "in your face" type but one that make me felt homey and hearty. Like the marble fresco in the restaurant, was told it was part of the conserved house. The people waiting can be better trained though...

L'Angelus is always a nice choice for a classic French meal. We have made a number of visits there and tried a wide range of items on their menu, none of which have disappointed. We particularly like their signature escargot starter and the chateaubriand main. They have a nice wine list and the service is also excellent.

As always, good French bistrot, good quality food, we like their tartare and chocolate fondant. Good vines not too expensive for Singapore standard. Service is also quite professional.

Have always loved this place. Very good menu, some real classics. The pate starter is great for sharing - it is huge, served with an onion chutney.
