This is our 2nd time dining at James Parker. The food is exceptional, the presentation is beautiful and the service is outstanding. I recommend you do your taste buds a “flavour” and book your next dinner date here.
Food is fantastic although slightly overpriced. Love the unagi bento and lotus root chips. Would be nice to have some cocktails in the drinks menu.
We had a very good night and excellent experience. Service is good. If you could consider customers first come and give some introductions or suggestions that would be more expectations.
a wonderful evening, the food was great, the service was great, a very enjoyable night to celebrate my birthday, am telling all my friends about it
The fried lotus chips was okay. We asked for just a little bit more extra sauce but was told we would have to pay for it. The most disappointing was the tempura prawn hand roll which doesn’t have much flavor. I had avocado prawn hand roll previously and was delicious but they said they don’t have it now so I ordered the epi prawn hand roll but I got tempura prawn hand roll instead. I think it was miscommunication. I did point my fingers to the epi hand rolls on the menu. The seaweed was not crunchy to bite. The seaweed was a bit soft. The fish we ordered was okay. Wouldn’t recommend it for children because a lot of bones. The eel rice box was nice. The desserts saved the night. We ordered the mochi & honey cake desserts and also the matcha ice cream with green tea jelly & popping rice. A very nice traditional Japanese dessert dish but next time I would ask to have the popping rice left out.
Great atmosphere and authentic Japanese cuisine. We had Sashimi to start with, which were delicious with a fantastic presentation. After having some others, there is no space in my stomach for Sushi. Each meal is certainly expensive, so to me this restaurant is only for a special occasion. I would like to try Sushi next time. Wishing a bit more quiet in a nice restaurant with great atmosphere like this.
Three of us had dinner here on a Saturday night, and we were all very happy with our experience. Although the restaurant was pumping, the service was good and food and drinks arrived quickly. We ordered an array of food (sashimi, sushi rolls, tataki and other izakaya dishes) and loved all of it. Even better, the bill arrived and was very reasonable.
Excellent food, service, ambience, staff. What more can you ask for? Top of the list for Japanese food in Perth at the moment so will definitely be back on a regular basis. Only negative and this has nothing to do with the restaurant, parking can be a pain, so taxi, drop off or Uber, is the best way to go.
Hands down best Japanese experience in Perth. Only blip being a relatively inexperienced front of house team looking after our section that led to menu confusion, incorrect drinks and inattentiveness. This was forgivable due to the standard of food (on par with top Tokyo sushi restauants) and the chef/owner treating us like royalty. We will return in the near future and recommend to people looking for premium Japanese quality in Perth.
We went for dinner on a Friday night and although it was busy it wasn't too noisy and had a nice ambiance. All the dishes we got were good, highlights include the maguro tsukune and shimesaba. For food and drinks for three people came to around $64 per person. They forgot one of the dishes we ordered but we were full so we ended up cancelling it.
