About Il Bacio
Dear diners, please note, Friday, Saturday and Sunday bookings need to be made before 12pm on Friday.
Italian food is always a popular choice for those looking for a night out in Essex, and at Il Bacio, they are lucky to have one of the best around. Visitors to their restaurant on Forest Drive in the centre of Theydon Bois are met with a menu packed with Italian favourites, from meat and fish dishes to pizzas and pastas. For a starter, we’d plump for the tagliere di Affettati, featuring crisp Sardinian bread, pecorino cheese, salami and parma ham, before the main event. Meat-lovers will enjoy the pan-fried calf liver with butter & sage, or for fish fans, there is a house signature of spigola, sea bass cooked in foil. There are plenty of classic pizza options too, so you can be sure of finding something for everyone when you visit Il Bacio. Take the tube out to Theydon Bois from central London for an Italian meal to remember.

Excellent food, great service. Relaxed atmosphere. Pasta was homemade. We would definitely return as it's a great local Italian. Pizza was lovely and crispy base
Love this restaurant, the food and ambience are lovely. Very reasonable prices for great portions. By far our favourite local restaurant that we can walk to.
We took our granddaughter for a midweek treat. We had generous portions of great food with good service, and a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely go again.
Lovely restaurant, beautiful food, authentic Italian cooking and the staff are very attentive, like a little slice of Italy in Theydon! will be back :-)
Good verging on excellent Italian restaurant. Good food served well and with a smile. I like that they have a lot of staff compared to chain restaurants, this means they have time for the customer and I felt well looked after. Tables are a little crammed which is a bit claustrophobic but that is a minor issue, overall a good experience and very good value for money.
Lovely place, gorgeous food, however, we felt a bit let down on service as there appears to be only certain member(s) of staff able to take food orders and it took a while for us to actually get our order in. The person taking the order was dashing around, rushed and very stressed which made us feel rushed when giving our order.
This was our first visit and we really enjoyed both the food and ambience, we will definitely return. My only tiny grumble was that there was not a whiff of booze in the tiramisu which was very disappointing.
Wonderful food , excellent service , the staff are very friendly . Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough .Looking forward to visiting the restaurant again very soon .
My third visit was just as superb as before Impeccable service and top quality quisine and plenty of it Love this place I'll be back again
The food was really great with the proportion sizes being on the generous side making it good value. The staff were also extremely attentive and nothing was too much trouble.
The food was lovely and presented very well. The restaurant was buzzing and it was a great atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and attentive.
Nice setting for a date. Really authentic restaurant. Lovely food at good prices. Only negative was the dessert (creme brûlée which had a strange taste). Would definitely go back.
Had a lovely Sunday afternoon lunch with family. The team were attentive and accommodating to our requests to change tables and answer questions about the menu. Good delicious!
It took a while to get the first drink and menu but overall pleasant staff nice food and big portions and the decor was very Italian inspired
Was very busy resulting in very long waiting time for our food. Steak not cooked to one of our party liking. In fairness they took this and all drinks off final bill.
Wife has been up all night being sick - food poisoning seems likely candidate. Stay away from the lobster. . . . . . .
