More about the restaurant: Hatched @ Holland Village

What came first, the chicken or the egg? Singapore’s Hatched in Holland Village has the answer. It can be boiled, fried, poached, pickled and scrambled. Take a guess. It’s the mighty egg, the primary source of power at this egg-inspired Holland Avenue all-day-breakfast restaurant. Finally, those who want to satisfy their craving for yolky goodness – sunny-side-up, easy-over, or the dozen other ways you can make an egg edible – have a place where they can come home to roost.

Thinking about making a Hatched @ Holland Village booking?

Meet Scrambling Sam, Boiling Betty, Frying Fred, Oliver Omelette, Poached Pammy, Sweet Egg Ella, and Baked Billy. This is the Hatched family of eggsperts, whose coop can be found along Holland Avenue in Singapore’s trendy Holland Village. Hatched is all about eggs for brunch. In fact it’s about eggs all the time (six minutes into boiling water for the perfect soft-boiled, mind), and brunch all day long. That said, when the sun begins to set (all yolk-like) and the hens settle down for a night on their nests, Hatched crack open a more varied menu of delicious comfort foods to make you feel all feathered and cosy. Rosti, classic Italian pasta dishes, and a good steak sourced with care from that other farmyard animal.

Singapore’s Hatched has a Catalog of Eggs, bird-speak for menu, with each way you can imagine to do an egg covered by one of its family of fun cartoon characters. Boiling Betty introduces her menu with simple toast soldiers to dip headfirst into soft-boiled eggs. Poached Pammy does a rather sacred-tasting eggs Benedict. Frying Fred has a line in egg-lined burgers, with vegetarian options. Oliver Omelette offers custom omelettes and a Spanish, salsa topped special. Scrambling Sam has a stack of options, including the chef’s special Philly. Baked Billy keeps it in one hot pot, while Sweet Egg Ella does French toast and desserts like no one else. Lastly, but not leastly (chicken, or egg?), the Friends of Eggs selection varies it up with various sides. There’s even a kid’s menu called Hatchlings! Down Holland Avenue, at Hatched in Holland Village, the egg always comes first.
