The food is ok not as good as before when they are in another location
The food was ok but the service was not what I had expected in a Japanese restaurant probably cos it is a Neighbourhood restaurant
This place is good value for money and the food we had was very nice. The service was friendly and attentive. We would definitely consider going there again, especially if we were already in the area. It's a bit lacking in atmosphere, but apart from that it's really decent. On another positive note the noise levels are quite low so it's easy to hold a conversation over dinner.
I always go for the sashimi set. Its the best. The grilled items are not nice.
The nabeyaki udon is superb! Enjoyed the food and ambience!
The staff never fails me. They are courteous and attentive.
It is always very good to dine at Hakata Japanese Restaurant.
I just love this authentic Japanese restaurant. It’s nice and cozy.
A child friendly restaurant and rooms for big groups too.
Very pleasant dining at the restaurant. Wide range of sake.
Enjoy the cosy ambience, good service and good range of food.
Returned customers, sashimi was fresh and radish portions was generous. Good service.
Repeat visit. I love the homely style of setup and service.
Nice and cozy ambience. Food and service is great too.
Regular customers who really enjoyed the good service and good food
what a good experience i had in this restaurant. i will recommend to my family to dine in.
Food is nice and price are reasonable. Will go back again.
it was a cosy place... staff were friendly and attentive... food was good too
The sashimi set is good as usual, but due to the expansion of premise, waiting time is longer too. Friendly and cozy service as usual.
We are regulars of this restaurant. Very glad that they have made every attempt to ensure the freshness of the sashimi served. The ambience is homely and cozy.
We had a sashimi plate, salmon avocado salad and marinated beef. All food was well prepared and fresh. The setting of the restaurant is simple but cosy. Friendly and attentive staff.
Sashimi set is yummy. Good selection of fresh fish and squid.
Good food, not so crowded. . I like the lightly seared beef and the cod fish biscuit with lobster salad. Definitely will revisit there again with my family.
We order the sashimi set and it was very fresh and delicious. The place is quite crowded on a Tuesday night, mostly with regular customers.
Cosy and simple restaurant. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced menu. Ordered stewed pork belly with rice and it was delicious. The pork is very tender and flavourful.
Great food great place. Will come back for more. Best sushi and sashimi for the price.
Wonderful place with great food. Very nice and friendly staffs
Nice ambience with nice retro japanese songs. The food was fresh and delicious. The service was excellent. We will definitely visit again in the next few weeks.
Our family went to Hakata @ Newest for dinner. Food quality is as good as old times in Hong Leong and prices still reasonable. Service is great and overall a pleasant dinner.
Value for money fresh assorted ingredients used for the $19 chirashi don at lunch. Could easily have cost twice the amount at restaurants in town where I have been served less fresh and varied seafood. Staff are attentive and friendly but appear to be inexperienced and untrained.
Food was good, good quality. Price was reasonable, especially the lunch specials. Clean taste, quite authentic. I see Japanese customers eating there too so must be good. Friendly staff. Highly recommended
Ive been a loyal customer of this restaurant since its Jurong bowl days. now its harder to get to in the west coast. but i always go back for the Dobin Mushi! The salmon sashimi is always fresh. The curry is really good, not too heavy not too light. quite a decent crowd for dinner. it was always easy to get a table. really hope they stay in business!
Food was delicious & the staff were polite. Saw a mosquito & was worried to be bitten. However, will visit again as the set portion was at reasonable price with good portion.
Fresh sashimi & tempura was good. Teppanyaki beef also not bad. On the other hand, chawanmushi is "dry" and tasted abit bland and sushi rice seemed lacking.
