The Thai mookata craze has been in full swing in Singapore for a while, with Japanese shabu shabu right on its heels, but for an authentic version of traditional Chinese hot pot – done without pretension and with only the freshest ingredients you can imagine – you have to try Fountain Hot Pot in Geylang. Conveniently located inside City Plaza on Geylang Road, close to Paya Lebar station, Fountain Hot Pot is an eatery for connoisseurs of Asian hot pot, with supreme cuts of squid, wafer thin slices of fish, pristine rolls of tender pork and vegetables fresher and fleshier (we’re thinking particularly of the juicy mushrooms here) than at most Singapore hot pot joints. If you don’t have the crew to do a group hot pot justice, don’t worry, because Fountain Hot Pot has sleek communal counter seating where you can enjoy hot pot solo!
I came all the way from the west to the east just for this hotpot. The owner of the share is Super friendly. Food is nice. I would highly recommend the mala soup base. Is Super nice! U won't regret. PS. Don't judge a book by its cover... hint: shop design & location of the place
