Unlike the Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys, Formosa Delights have just kept on rollin’ since bursting onto the scene in the ‘90s. Perhaps it’s because, rather than engineered teen pop, this popular bar and restaurant in Clementi specialises in deliciously authentic Taiwanese treats – things that never get old, and you never grow out of. Taiwanese street food continues to ride a growing wave of coolness around Singapore, but Formosa Delights is a place that started before the fad, and their food is as traditional and delicious as any contemporary Asian eatery in the city. Fresh noodles, in many incarnations, are the backbone of operations here on Clementi Road, but you should not visit Formosa Delights without trying their signature Taiwanese radish crepes! The beauty of these is that you can justify eating them any time – as an entree or accompaniment to a meal, a hefty serving for lunch, or a few to share over a casual drink at the suave and very well-stocked Formosa Delights bar.
