Singapore’s Folklore tells the tale of cultures joining forces and mingling with one another, existing peacefully and side-by-side. Essentially, Folklore is about storytelling and it tells the story of Singapore, a place that’s packed to the brim with ethnicities from all over the world. The food at this Kallang restaurant is representative of the city’s diversity, its openness and its relationship to the past. Folklore is a restaurant for Singaporeans, for travellers and for anyone willing to try something new.
Folklore restaurant is the brainchild of Chef Damian D’Silva, a Singapore native whose mixed Peranakan and Eurasian heritage has inspired the cuisine on offer at this restaurant. This Kallang restaurant offers seasonal menus with a bounty of flavours from all over the world. Decide from delectable options like sambal buah keluak fried rice, hati babi bungkus(traditional Peranakan meatballs), pork leg with salted vegetables, or singgang, a special Eurasian seafood dish. There’s a whole lot more to try at Singapore’s Folklore restaurant, so head to Destination Singapore Hotel on Beach Road to find them. Reserve ahead to avoid disappointment.

Food and deserts were very good. Nice ambience. Good value set lunch. Service needs to be improved, as staff seemed untrained and were unfamiliar with the menu.
All gd. Food gd. Service gd. Ambience gd. However food pricing can b lowered to reflect better value to somewhat equate choice of ingredients used.
Good Peranakan food, though slightly expensive. Service can be improved
