Singapore’s Folklore – found the second floor of the Destination Hotel on Beach Road – offers an unbridled experience to food lovers of all stripes. Showcasing a myriad of east meets west flavours, this stylish restaurant offers guests a dining experience that does not disappoint. The aim here is to represent the harmonious mingling of cultures in the city-state, and Folklore does that in a particularly delicious way. Chef Damian D’Silva invites you to experience the fusion of flavours of his heritage at his labour of love, Folklore in Kallang, just moments from the CBD.

Singapore’s Folklore tells the tale of cultures joining forces and mingling with one another, existing peacefully and side-by-side. Essentially, Folklore is about storytelling and it tells the story of Singapore, a place that’s packed to the brim with ethnicities from all over the world. The food at this Kallang restaurant is representative of the city’s diversity, its openness and its relationship to the past. Folklore is a restaurant for Singaporeans, for travellers and for anyone willing to try something new.

Folklore restaurant is the brainchild of Chef Damian D’Silva, a Singapore native whose mixed Peranakan and Eurasian heritage has inspired the cuisine on offer at this restaurant. This Kallang restaurant offers seasonal menus with a bounty of flavours from all over the world. Decide from delectable options like sambal buah keluak fried rice, hati babi bungkus(traditional Peranakan meatballs), pork leg with salted vegetables, or singgang, a special Eurasian seafood dish. This is my first time here. The food is simply palatable. All the dishes are tasty. The rice portion is particularly big. Service is good too.
