Fire and spice and all things nice are on the table at this hot South Perth restaurant, a specialist in traversing both Indian and Nepalese cuisines in the course of one meal. Fire & Spice Fusion Restaurant is true to its name – while it’s not fusion in the more commonly accepted sense of (East) Asian fusion, this is one restaurant committed to joining the dots between India and Nepal over the spine of the Himalayas. Located in the Meadowvale Shopping Centre on the the corner of Mill Point Road and Meadowvale Avenue, Fire & Spice is a popular spot for a bite to eat while locals are out and about, and a destination for Perth foodies serious about South Asian cuisine, so be sure to book a table in advance.
Fire & Spice Fusion Restaurant promises to take its guests on a gastronomic journey through the cuisines of India and Nepal from its welcoming premises in South Perth. Their chicken momo – Nepalese dumplings that draw on the culinary traditions of neighbouring China – are an instant classic essential as a starter. Go one further and order up a half dozen of the chef’s special sizzling momo, deep-fried and cooked with onion, capsicum and Fire & Spice’s house-made sweet chilli sauce. If you’re one of those Perth people that like your spice, go for the chilli chicken, chilli garlic prawns, chilli garlic pork, or the crispy-fried chilli squid.
Being at least half an Indian restaurant, you can get a classic butter chicken – it’s a Perth favourite – but we highly recommend going for the chef’s special rogan josh, tender lamb cooked in a blend of spices and a tomato and onion gravy. There are some fantastic dishes, too, for a truly Himalayan dinner. Another Fire & Spice special is the goat curry, while the goat vindaloo is a classic and very hot Indian dish. For those with a more timid palate, try the goat coconut curry, recalling the tropical climes of Goa(t). There are plenty of options for vegetarians at this South Perth restaurant, including the house potato or eggplant curries and the Fire & Spice Royal Curry, with paneer cottage cheese cooked in a rich, creamy and subtly spiced tomato-based gravy. The food was really really good and the service was friendly. The atmosphere was relaxing and the setting comfortable. I look forward to going back.
Fantastic food - we didn’t want a big meal so just ordered a range of entrees to share: chicken sizzle momos, Fire & Spice chips, fish pokaras and a chilli olive naan. Everything was amazing. The staff Nepalese chef and waiter were very welcoming and friendly and the restaurant had Nepalese and Indian music playing. Loved it.
Really great food. Best Indian we have had anywhere. Lovely flavours and vary the spiciness as requested. Suits the whole family. Staff friendly and accommodating. A family favourite restaurant.
A Delicious meal as always - a family run business that goes out of their way to please customers and nice to see it well supported
Service was very good and efficient. Food was very good and of quality. Although serves were traditionally smallish they were still filling. Only suggestion would be to reduce the price of the meals which would improve the recommendation factor and then in-turn aid in table turns which equals more dollars. Decor is nice just needs more people which will also increase atmosphere. I would dine here again.
Lovely friendly restaurant with the most delicious food. Excellent service and prices were reasonable. Will be back again for sure and whilst not busy for a friday still a good ambiance.
Very friendly, helpful service. Excellent food, fresh ingredients and lovely flavours . The best Indian food we have ever had. Comfortable surroundings . Overall great experience.
We had a really nice time and the food was good......It has a great atmosphere and we really liked the décor....I would recommend my friends
A bit pricey for what you get but overall good food and service. The ambience is good and will be back again for another meal.
