Pretty good value as we redeemed a Burpple 1 for 1 deal. Booking was made through Quandoo which was straight forward and easy. We had the 8 course Taster Menu at Fat Belly and my … it was so gooood. The bite size starters and consommé soup really set us up for the other dishes. All the dishes were well chosen, balanced and tasty. Our favorites has to be the The Bikini (Homemade Wagyu Bak Kwa, Moroccan spice and Emmental cheese. Its like kaya toast but 100X tastier as the blend of cheese and wagyu beef just melts in your mouth. Next is the mains, the Tri Tip which is Auskobe Wagyu Marblewith burnt shallots, smoked mushrooms. How good was that ! Overall, terrific food, friendly service and fun dining. Highly recommended !
We had the @burpple 1-for-1 Tasting Menu set. My favourite items were the: Beef broth - which was light & fragrant Savoury Tart - Love! 😍 ShortRibs - tasty & tender As for the main, Wagyu Marble score 4-5 Tri-tip, was well cooked, tender & juicy but a tad too chewy for us. The mashed potato on the side was delish! 🤤 We each top-up $5 for a different dessert. Tiramisu was nice, but some parts were a little frozen and the ladyfinger was not soft enough but that’s just my personal preference. 😛 Burnt Cheesecake was quite good too but better to share it as it might get a little too heavy after a hearty meal. Thank you for candle on the cake 🤗 Overall It was not bad. But I think the customers might feel more welcome if the chefs are friendlier & interacts with those sitting at the counter seats.
We were given counter seats. Disliked the idea at first but came to love seeing the kitchen in action! Food was fantastic! Baked camembert was fantastic and the Deckle steak stole the show! It was a tad difficult to catch the attention of the service staff though due to the location of our seats. Overall, a great experience. We definitely be back soon!
We had the onion veloute for starter, wagyu rump cap and wagyu deckle mains, creamed kale and mushroom for the sides, sticky date pudding and burnt cheesecake for dessert. With the exception of the mushroom (mediocre), everything was outstanding. The real stars of the show were the steak and the veloute. Skip the sauce for the steaks if you really like beef.
The new Experience Menu exceeded my expectations, and is even better than the old! Went on a Friday night with a total of six pax and got our own table. Unfortunately the one blemish on our experience that night was the service staff who informed us that the table had to be given up for the next group. She could have been more polite, and waited till we were done with our dessert.
The food was good, but considering the list price of $80 for a set meal, the serving size was really small. The main was a 150g steak of good quality- beefy, tasty, juicy. The remaining sides and starters of the set meal was really little, although most of them were rich and flavourful. there was no complimentary bread. Big eaters can top it up with some creamed kale (which were amazing the last time i tried) and salad.
