More about the restaurant: D's Kitchen Mookata
A northern outpost for Singapore’s mookata fans, D’s Kitchen Mookata offers up its traditional Thai barbecue from premises along Woodlands Industrial Park E2, not far from both Woodlands and Admiralty stations. For the uninitiated, mookata (mu kratha in Thai, strictly speaking) is a kind of combination of Korean barbecue and Chinese hotpot or steamboat cookery, where your chosen ingredients are cooked on the domed centre of a charcoal grill while other ingredients simmer away in a soup broth creating a moat around the dome. Typical ingredients are pork (mu means ‘pig’ in Thai), chicken, lamb, seafood, vegetables and mushrooms, with spicy dipping sauces alongside. At D’s Kitchen Mookata, the prices are incredible, with combination sets for one to two or three to four people on offer, plus plenty of a la carte add-ons to keep things interesting.
