Had to wait for a while although we made a reservation. But the food is good as usual - worth the wait! I like that the place is cozy too.
One of the legit Korean bbq place I’ve been to in Singapore. Good food & good price. Would love to visit again.

I went for dinner at Don Dae Bak with a friend and we decided to go with the KBBQ buffet. We got everything but chicken and found the meat very tasty and fresh. The side dishes were generous and we enjoyed the free flow egg. The tables were kind of near each other but everything else about the place was great. Bathroom was clean too.
Food was good - especially the pork belly and chicken. Didnt quite like the beef brisket though. Appetizers and egg were also free flow and delicious. Food however does take a while to cook as they use charcoal but that was no problem for us. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Our charcoal was replaced timely and bbq plate was also changed frequently which was great. I really appreciated the service and the politeness, and I did not experience the negativity of what was mentioned in other reviews. Also the best thing was that GST was absorbed so there was just a 10% serviceBe sure to make a reservation before going down, especially on Friday nights.
We have been to Don Dae Bak multiple times over the past few years and the experience was always good. However, this visit was lacklustre. The lunch buffet was cooked over a portable gas stove when it used to be charcoal (you only get charcoal for dinner service even though it is the same price), the beef brisket was limited to 1 serving per person (it was previously unlimited), and probably due to the portable gas stove, we didn't get to enjoy the egg on the side with the meats. Pretty disappointed that quality has dipped.
Prices have risen (and now beef brisket is not free flow) but not to an unacceptable level. I also note that along with the price raise however, they have repainted the entrance and changed some of their equipment. They also seem to have more staff now, so it was easier to get a server's attention. Good meat and free flow egg as usual. However, now many large portions of each type of meat are given each time, even when you specifically tell the server to give just 1 piece, and even after we asked for the amount served to be lessened. May want to look into that so customers don't waste food unintentionally.
We had booked last minute using quandoo. But the restaurant said it’s not reflected in their system and we could only wait. After a long time, they ushered us to a table for family (although it’s only the 2 of us). Unfortunately it was gas grill, not charcoal as what we expected. We did ask if we could move to another table that we saw was empty. But they said it will take us another 40 mins of waiting. Too bad.
Went for the buffet once again! And as usual the food was great~ The quality of service has definitely improved since my previous visits; servers were friendly, very initiative to change the grills and proactive asking whether we needed more sides or meats regularly throughout our entire meal 😊 (which we definitely did, the kimchi here is SO GOOD ) Needless to say, DDB made a great impression on my friends who went for the first time. Thank you 🙏🏻
