Southern Asia comes together in Singapore, and whether your tastes are for Chinese cuisine, Japanese sushi, Korean BBQ, Vietnamese noodle soups, Indian curries, Thai delicacies or the local Nyonya Peranakan specialities, you can always find something to suit your palate in the city state. You can even go one further: in the heart of the Chinatown, close to Telok Ayer Market and Raffles Place, you can find them all at Ding Dong, where pan-Asian fusion cuisine is the order of the day. That takes the form of fresh seafood and meat dishes, vegetarian options and a huge cocktail menu to keep the whole party happy: so book a table today and head on down to Amoy Street and Ding Dong.
For parties of 7 and more, please contact Ding Dong directly.
The realm of Asian cuisine is a large one, and it takes a very confident person to try and take them all on. At Ding Dong on Amoy Street in the centre of Chinatown, they have such a figure in the form of Jet Lo – no relation to the high-kicking hero Jet Li, though they are both Singapore citizens – who has crafted a menu that encapsulates all the many flavours of Asia, from Indian and Thai curries to Vietnamese and Chinese-style noodles dishes, as well as plenty of fresh fish and seafood to boot. Let us talk you through a few of the specialities that you can find on the menu at Ding Dong in Chinatown.
Start your meal on Amoy Street in a suitably Chinatown manner, with a few small plates of Cantonese classics: Ding Dong blue lobster bao with hoisin sauce is a local favourite. Follow it up with a larger dish of Thai-style Tom Kha crispy quail, Japanese Wagyu char siew, Malaysian beef cheek rendang, cooked for 48 hours straight, or even the snapper sagg aloo with garam masala. Reserve yourself a table at Ding Dong, take a trip on the MRT to Chinatown, Raffles Place or Downtown stations and get ready for a superb Asian meal in Singapore.
Fun, relaxing, and great food. Decor inside is fantastic, and sitting outside with a drink very nice too. Must try this place!
Very nice food and prompt service. New location is great too.
Awesome dining experience, great service and amazing fusion food - very well thought out! Shoutout to the bartenders who made great cocktails! Thank you for the great experience.
We didn't know what to chose so we asked the waiter to recommend some dishes. We ordered what he recommended and we loved all the dishes!
The perfect kinda place to enjoy a good meal, chilling to happy retro music. Ding Dong was a fun place to dine, as they had set out to be. Quirky wallpaper decor, retro music; interesting food and bar drinks. We totally enjoyed the counter seats by the kitchen, admiring how the staff operated like clockwork in the confined space. And they were really good with the cooking while still enjoyed themselves. They had put some local Asian twists into their dishes. Tried a few other dishes and desserts and we were sure we would be back for more.
Corporate lunch meetup at Ding Dong. First time dining, food were excellent and tasty, interesting choice. We ordered the lunch set menu however portion were small. I would prefer to pay slightly extra to have a comfortable portion. Due it is corporate lunch meeting therefore we didnt order extra.
As always Ding Dong didnt fail to impress, the food was amazing! Their new location is nice and the ambiance is lively and keeps you engaged.
I visited the restaurant specifically to try the lobster tail in tomyum broth but it was unfortunately sold out so I had to settle for the pork collar char siew. The restaurant apparently only prepares a limited number of portions of the lobster tail so you probably have to go really early to get one. Portions are small for the price but meat was tender and tasty. My friend had the snapper in green curry which was delicious.
The place is so amazing that I am back again the very next week to dine here. Was greeted by another set of kitchen crew. This set of Crew... though not as "fun" as the previous one did a great job in preparing the food. Food was well prepared and we love the dishes we had tonight.
We had a great time in Ding Ding restaurant. Large panels of Asian dishes which you can eat at a table or in front of the bar. The atmosphere is quite relaxed with good music. The dishes are well served in surprising plates. Highly recommended to go there at least once.
Food is consistently good since they were at Ann Siang Hill. Service is great as well. I'm not so sure about the cocktails though - average in imagination and taste. They have a surprisingly good selection of wines. Overall always a positive dining experience in the few times i've been.
Went on a Friday night, reserved seats but got seated at the bar. If you'd like tables, I suggest calling up after booking and requesting it, or adding comments to your booking. Food was fairly average, to be honest. Had the fish and steak, but portions are small. Drinks were fairly decent though. I'd recommend using the entertainer app for food!
new venue looks and works great, all the old favourites from the previous menu are there. would like to see a few more new items but really can't fault this place for excellent fusion food at an affordable price
Nice Interior, interesting wallpapers. Service staff was friendly and rather attentive. We went for lunch and the set lunch was quite value for money. The portion of the food is ok for ladies. For guys, they may need an extra order of starters. The desserts on the set lunch menu were surprising good. Will go back :)
went for the feed me set. it was overall an enjoyable meal. there were some misses though, but overall i felt really satisfied! a great place to gather in my opinion, but i preferred the previous location as it looked more hipster!
We were there for lunch. Ambiance is nice, service was good. Food was nice but nothing out of the ordinary - portion size was very small. Waiting time was very long though - it took us 1hr 45min for a lunch (3 course) which is too much time for a business lunch.
The food was fabulous as is the location. It was a beautiful Singapore evening so we sat outside and enjoyed the people watching. The service was also very good. Everything came quickly and we didn't need to ask for anything twice.
More than excellent food, i hereby share my very gud experirence with their staff we had today.... After dinner, in a hurry to go, v left our wallet containg good money at the cash desk yersterday night by 1030 pm
Food was not only so aesthetically pretty, but also dang delicious! At every bite, my friend and I were gushing about how good the dishes were! So so so good. We were so so so happy after the meal.
good atmosphere, good staff. Kindly asking for another drink when they find my glass is empty, good service. Dishes are nice, kind of Asian fusion cuisine. I liked the duck rillettes.
