About Deathrow Diner
There are a few things you think of when you think of America: the Wild West, the New York skyline, the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles...morbid obesity, Donald Trump, huge incarceration rates...it’s a mixed bag. While Deathrow Diner might sound like it harks towards the latter three options, in fact it leans towards the former, with a menu that brings the very best of modern American cooking to the streets of Liverpool, from burgers and barbecue to wings and ribs and plenty more besides. Throw in a fair few drinks options – cocktails, beers, speciality soft drinks and milkshakes – and an ambience that recalls all of the gin joints in all the towns in all the world. Walk into theirs by wandering over to Hope Street in the Georgian Quarter for an American restaurant in Liverpool that is well worth a slice of your time. Book now.

If you’re into American things, then you need to get yourself over to Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter. While the Georgian period was more typically associated with shooting Americans in a series of colonial wars, relations have improved somewhat in the intervening 200 or so years, allowing our revolutionary Puritan offshoots to reestablish themselves in the Motherland, going so far as to open restaurants in the heart of Liverpool city centre. Deathrow Diner bring the best in American cuisine to Hope Street, with a menu that features all the finest food from the land of the free and the home of the brave to the city of the Beatles and other, less good bands.
The culinary exports of America are manifold, and you can get a taste of them all at Deathrow Diner. Begin your Freedom Feast with a corn dog, maple popcorn chicken, mac and cheese bites or barbecue burnt ends, before moving onto a sharing platter of nachos, wings or ribs. The mains include burgers – of course – that can include everything from beef patties and the classic toppings of cheese, bacon and mustard to move outlandish fillings such as deep fried egg, coconut curry and tobacco onions. There’s plenty of meat to be found too, and whether you’re into steaks (they have 10oz ribeye or American strip) or chicken then you’re in for a treat. Do remember to book a table, however, as these are some of the best burgers in Liverpool, among their other delicacies, so Deathrow Diner can get crowded on occasion. Top notch. Food was very nice and service was fast and good atmosphere. We had a mixture of mainly starters. Lasagne bites are fantastic. Would recommend.
Lovely rich food with a jail rock vibe. Helpful and wonderful staff, excellent food with many options to mix from. Recommend to anyone and everyone
Fabulous service by friendly happy staff. Food was quick to arrive and hot, steak cooked perfect and popcorn chicken and burgers were absolutely delicious. Staff were attentive ensuring our drinks never empty and food to our standard. Overall a fantastic meal for myself and family of 5. Definitely return again.
Lovely food and atmosphere. Could only say that alcohol was a bit expensive for what you got but other than that would highly recommend, have already told all my friends :)
This is one of those rare places that gets dining out right. Starting at street level, you're drawn down to a mysterious low-lit basement where you are greeted by an attentive water or waitress. On less busy evenings you're given the choice of choosing where to sit (the rearmost centre is a favourite of mine). The attentiveness continues as you're asked if you're ready to choose a drink from the menu, or if you'd prefer have a few minutes to study the assortment of soft and hard drinks on offer. The food offering is exemplary, spanning from lighter bites (deep fried lasagne bites are a firm favourite of mine) to more hearty dishes such as mouthwatering burgers, steaks and chicken. If you're in the Hope Street area of Liverpool I'd highly recommended visiting Death Row Diner for top class food, not to mention the story that Death Row Diner is themed on.
We really love this restaurant, and enjoyed the new menu as much as the old one. The Katsu chicken was delicious. The service wasn't brilliant this time. It was friendly just a bit slow, but I think they were a little understaffed. I also think they should bring back the Sundae with the deep fried Oreos ;) They've come back with a better selection of beers in my opinion.
The food is nothing short of exceptional, service amazing and everything else just as perfect. Can't wait to return. Try the pastrami fries and the popcorn chicken, cool atmosphere and the drinks menu is a beast.
For a Saturday night it was terribly understaffed, 2 floor staff and a manager. There appeared to be 2 kitchen staff and a KP We booked a table, had to wait 30 minutes at the bar - we were a table of 4. Another group had booked for 8.30 - had to wait, got free drinks, we did not. After being seated we waited 45 minutes for someone to even take a drink order, we nearly walked. Several tables around us walked out without even having their stater. 1 group of 4 had waited an hour for starters, the table next to us waited 75 minutes for starters then their starters and mains came all together. By the time our food came it was a very empty place. We then waited 30 mins after starter cleared for mains. Asked for the bill, no sorry about the whole experience . Food was not as good as previous visits either. Not great at all. Put me off coming back again. We travelled from Chester for this awful experience
Great food and drinks. Decor and theme really good too and staff very attentive, friendly and helpful. Great place, can't recommend this place enough. Will be back soon 👍🏻👍🏻
This is a really cool place - loved the setting! The food was yummy and really big portions. A great selection of cocktails. The staff were really friendly.
Lovely food and great cocktail menu. Would return again to sample more of the cocktails and the yummy food! Staff were friendly and service was quick.
Had a fab time!! Food was great, service was tops! Just a little breezy with the door open! Other than that cant wait to get back!
The food was absolutely excellent and the service was great for a reasonable price. I will definitely be returning soon, very glad DRD is back!
Food was really good. There was only one waiter for whole restaurant but he coped quite well and was responsive and friendly with all customers.
Great food and friendly service . Lovely to have this place back again and will be visiting again . Nice atmosphere very laid back feeling
Was lovely, food was filling. The only criticism is that the starters are a bit too small, and the burgers maybe need more sauce? All in all great though!
The waitress was fantastic and helpful, however 5 of the 7 meals we ordered were unavailable and the manager was exactly appologetic, telling us she was busy when we tried to make a complaint. The good that we had was Ok, but nothing special which was unfortunate as it had so much potential.
Took a while for drinks to arrive considering the restaurant was nearly empty. But overall good food and friendly staff. :)
Some mix-ups with the food order and a couple of dropped plates. Took a very long time and multiple attempts to get the bill when time came to leave Food was was okay but it wasn't the best service
First time we came was great, however, we could not say the the same this time as food was not so good but kids mikshakes were lovely.
Awful, table wasnt ready for time we booked, bar man was too busy to serve us drinks whilst we wait, 50 minute wait and no starters arrived so we decided to leave will not be returning
Very disappointed! Waited 10 mins to be seen to. Waited 20 mins at bar still not served. Walked out in the end. Won't be returning!
