From the outside, Daisy’s Dream Kitchen in Singapore’s Bukit Timah neighbourhood may look humble – but that’s all part of the charm. Inside, a journey through some of the city’s best Peranakan dishes awaits. The local restaurant is owned and operated by Daisy, who invites guests to share mouth-watering food – inspired by the traditional home-cooked dishes Daisy’s mother prepared for her and 11 other siblings – with the people you love most. Expect typical nyonya delicacies, from assam prawn and beef rendang to babi buah keluak and fish maw soup, as well as a smorgasbord of other decadent meat, seafood and vegetable mains. The buzz around this family-friendly eatery is at an all-time high (for very good reason) so bookings are highly recommended!

There was no need to queue as we had made reservation. The food ordering is done online through our mobile phone which can be daunting for older folks who are not so IT savy. Fortunately, the staff are ready to help. The items we liked best are the babi buah keluak and ngoh hiang. We are, however, disappointed with the rendang which is rather tough as though it is not braised long enough. Will return another time to try the many other dishes.
