... all the elegance, informality and buzz of a classic Parisian bistro”
– Good Food GuideOn the historic and picturesque Black Jack Street in Cirencester you’ll find Côte Brasserie, a modern French restaurant fit for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You’ve likely heard of Côte Brasserie given that it’s one of the most famous family of restaurants in the UK, and you’ll be glad to know the restaurant lives up to all the hype. Here there is a dedication to fresh produce and to service that makes the whole experience feel tailored to you, and given the location of this restaurant right in the centre of town, it’s a struggle to go wrong with Côte Brasserie.
Sitting pretty in Cirencester on the very edge of the The Cotswolds, Côte Brasserie doesn’t make a fuss. What it does do is master the simple excellence of French dining in ways unreached by other restaurants in the centre of Cirencester. As with its brothers and sisters up and down the UK, this Côte Brasserie on Black Jack Street combines a charming location with typically French furnishings to bring an atmosphere that is always relaxed and calm. This is positively a pleasant place to perch and ponder with a plate of French food and a glass of great wine.
One beauty of Côte Brasserie is the all-day dining operation that is so smoothly executed by a dedicated team and a kitchen making use of only the finest ingredients. Thus you can be sure that whatever time of day you stop by, your meal will be more than up to scratch. Diners of Cirencester can look forward to a creamy bowl of mussels cooked with white wine and garlic, a rich serving of beef bourguignon, or a prime piece of roasted duck breast, served pink with gratin potato and a cherry sauce. Reserve a table at this town centre delight and enjoy authentic flavours of France.
Wonderful breakfast with friends and family as a send of for our daughter joining the Navy.
Great night out, lovely atmosphere, great food and good service as always.
Great breakfast, has become a regular stop at the weekends
Excellent efficient and friendly service although very busy. Nice menu, lots of choice, steak and chicken equally nice. Made my husband's birthday very special! Thank you.
We visited Cote for the first time due to its dedicated Gluten free menu and recommended by Coeliac UK. We tend not to eat starters so cannot comment on those but there was a good selection of gluten free main courses to choose from and the Duck was delicious - my wife also enjoyed the fillet steak with a peppercorn sauce - but did actually comment that the sauce was not quite as good as I make! I was however a bit disappointed in the selection of Gluten Free deserts and had to plump for plain ice-cream when I would have preferred something with a bit more of a sharper bite such as a lemon tart or cheesecake where as the available deserts all tended to be much richer or sweeter. There was also rather a lack of soft drink options - my wife tends to enjoy Elderflower or ginger beer neither of which was available. They also did not have a Sprite or 7Up for me...but did have a Coke. The Cappuccinos could also be a bit bigger as they tended to be all froth and little coffee. This all seems to sound rather negative yet despite this we did enjoy the evening which was to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. The restaurant was very busy due to it being a Saturday evening which meant the waiting staff were not quite so attentive as we would have expected and for what we had it did seem rather overpriced but as we don't go out that often we didn't mind and generally enjoyed ourselves. If we went again I think we would choose midweek when less busy and I would probably have a starter to make up for lack of suitable gluten free deserts.
Like Cote in Cirencester, staff are friendly and professional, food is overall good quality as is the vino. Tends to be quite rammed up to 3pm at the weekend so table space is at a premium, last two times We've booked have been given a table by the front window which sounds very nice initially but is very busy as it's where the staff operate from so not particularly intimate. Only gripe really is the "Voluntary 12.5% service charge" which is already added to your bill when produced- As such this is hardly voluntary and if you don't notice it you can end up providing a tip twice which is what I have done in the past when I have left cash on the table for the individual waiter/ waitress who has served us. So check your bill prior too paying.
A very pleasant evening and food was excellent. Restaurant was busy and some of the other guests were somewhat noisy but having said that, it was a Saturday night in a vibrant location. Being seated near the window at the front of restaurant didn't really affect us. Staff we're friendly and attentive. We were given a free bottle of wine as part of the Cote Rewards scheme which was good. Need to be aware of the "optional" service charge of 12.5% which is automatically added to the bill - it is the customers choice to pay or not, no pressure from waiting staff. Highly recommended and good French cuisine!! Have been before and will certainly go again.
It's the first time I've been to Cote in Cirencester, although I had been to Cote restautants in Surrey a few times. Cote Cirencester is a really nice restaurant. The staff were all excellent and the food was as good as ever. We had 3 courses from the Early Evening Menu - which is incredible value for money. We chose different things for each course and all 6 of our dishes were top quality. The friend I went with had never been to Cote before and was really impressed with the quality of the food, the staff and the overall ambience. He will be recommending it to family and friends - as I will, too.
I booked a table for 6 of us for a friend's birthday. We were made to feel very welcome and the waiter was very friendly and patient with us as we were too busy chatting to look at the menu and so had to ask him to come back several times before we were ready to order. My friends was given a complementary glass of Kia royale for her birthday and her dessert came out with a candle in it and all the staff singing. The food was delicious. I had the haddock in bacon on lentils, and would highly recommend.
It was great to return to Cote Brasserie in Cirencester once again, where we were greeted with a warm welcome and wonderful service from our waiter Sam. As always the food was outstanding and the timings of the food was great, which was presented beautifully. Nothing was to much trouble for our waiter Sam , who was attentive, recommend different dishes and wine to have with them and gave us some local history of Cirencester which was very useful as we are from London . I would highly recommend a visit to Cote Brasserie, where you will not be disappointed.
