Corbett & Claude is a family of modern Italian restaurants with locations all over Brisbane, including one on Elizabeth Street right in the heart of the CBD. Situated inside the original, century old Corbett Chambers Building designed by Claude Chambers, it is this location that inspired Corbett & Claude’s restaurant concept, with the buildings linked to a Traveller’s Association built upon a shared passion for sharing stories with friends while drinking and eating.
The perfect place for a working lunch, for fueling up after a day of retail therapy, or for unwinding while sharing charcuterie and stories with friends over some cocktails in the evening, Corbett & Claude serves up refined Italian cuisine in a stylish setting. You’ll find the Brisbane CBD branch located on Elizabeth Street inside a building of the restaurant’s namesake, designed by famous architect Claude Chambers. Whether it's for lunch, dinner or simply some cocktails, the menu caters to all tastes and dietary requirements, whether you’re a meat lover, vegetarian or vegan.
Try one of Corbett & Claude’s pizzas like The Consultant topped with thinly-sliced potato, crispy prosciutto and rosemary or The Fisherman with prawns, calamari, rocket, chilli jam, fresh lemon and chilli sauce, go for some gnocchi with your choice of sauce and toppings, or tuck into a tasty salad like The Dreamer with rainbow quinoa, rocket, baby spinach, mandarin, shaved green apple, celery, blueberries and walnuts. Day or night, Corbett & Claude’s Elizabeth Street branch is the place to go to enjoy modern Italian cuisine in a refined setting in Brisbane’s CBD. To guarantee a table, making a reservation in advance is recommended!
The food and drinks were outstanding, all meals arrived within 15 minutes of our order being placed and were well priced. The atmosphere is bubbly.
Fantastic food, lovely atmosphere and great service. An excellent escape from the office for a weekday lunch and a wonderful venue for after-work drinks. Thanks!
Exceptional, tailored service. Your waitress Lexi is exceptional, have now been there twice with visits months apart and vividly remember her by first name as her service is so outstanding. Thank you for not making an issue of any dietary requirements as well, makes your restaurant an absolute pleasure to dine in. Will most certainly be back
The staff attention to us was excellent; remembering our names & checking on us at decent intervals. The lunch we had was quick, delicious & generous.
Great pizza restaurant, tucked away in a laneway off Elizabeth Street. We visited for lunch on a Friday and the place was pretty packed. We had booked for two, but were allocated a high bar style table with bar stools which was difficult for my husband who has a bad back. The waitress very kindly found us another table and was more than helpful. Our waiter was excellent, and the food came out quickly as did the drinks. Pizza is absolutely fab, including the gluten free bases! The only negative I could point to, as other reviewers have, is the noise factor. Two of us could chat across the table if we spoke up, but a larger table would have no hope. For that reason I would be reluctant to suggest this restaurant for a group, all though there were large tables of people so maybe that's an age thing? Other than that, very impressed and will visit again!
Great food - you need to try the haloumi chips and polenta bites - they are absolutely delicious. Our margarita pizza was crisp, with just the right amount of topping, and when my native Italian friend requested oregano on it, they were happy to oblige. Our cocktails were imaginative and delicious. I have only one criticism. At 7.30 on a Saturday night it was incredibly noisy. I know they've taken steps to reduce the noise, but it was still very difficult to hear each other, even in the close proximity of a table for two. We requested a quieter spot and were relocated to the lounge area. It was quiet and private, but the lack of a proper table made eating elegantly a challenge. Very comfortable to sit back and relax, though. Have been there a couple of times now and recommend it for a delicious and relaxing get-together.
From the moment we walked in we were greeted with smiles and friendly faces. The restaurant was surprisingly spacious and had an upbeat feel, filled with the banter of fellow diners all enjoying their meals. Their website was very incredibly helpful in guiding us where to park. I got a great online deal in a nearby parking station. The wait staff are to be congratulated, we were never left without a table water and our food arrived quickly. This family friendly restaurant was great and I will definitely be back. Next time with some friends for dinner and drinks (the cocktail list looked tempting!)
Had lunch with some girlfriends on a Tuesday, and the place was nearly empty. Despite this the service was slow and we had to flag down a waitress to take our orders. Our capricciosa pizza tasted goof\d, but was wet in the middle which made the crust soggy - too much juice from something. The fig and prosciutto pizza was well made and a nice flavour and texture, although the raw ingredients on top, added after cooking, weren't to my taste - I prefer everything to be cooked. Haloumi chips and sweet potato chips were delicious. It's a convenient location and would cater well for large groups as they allow to you split the bill and pay separately. I imagine the atmosphere would be a lot more energetic on Friday and Saturday nights, but for a Tuesday lunchtime catchup it allowed for easy conversation and happy tummies.
We arrived early and were spoilt with attention from a variety of wait staff. They were wiling to give recommendations, were attentive during the entire meal - quick to take new orders, managed late comers and all meals were superb and come out fast. the bar staff were equally attentive and knew their stuff. The ambiance was good too. Highly recommended - great food great service.
It was really loud and crowded as we went on a Friday night. This didn't bother us too much but our table was right in the midst of the after work drinkers which wasn't ideal. The staff were extremely friendly and lovely but because it was so busy they were really slow getting around to take our order. Drinks and food both took a while to arrive. The pizza was ok. The flavours were fantastic but the bases were a little doughy and undercooked. We finished with a coffee which was really bitter tasting and burnt. Disappointing as we had been wanting to try it for ages. Perhaps this was just our experience as it was so busy but probably won't return to find out.
