Though you might be skeptical at first, we feel it’s fair for Chicken Legend to ask diners to taste the uniqueness. Our reasoning goes like this – though there are many Chinese steamboat restaurants in Singapore, Chicken Legend is the first to offer a coconut steamboat experience, pouring the sweet and nutritious liquor straight from the shell itself into the steamboat’s hot pot. Add sweet corn and prawns to the soup, a special soy sauce infused with ten herbs, sides of garlic, lime, and chilli for garnish, citric sourness and heat, drop in traditional kampung-style pieces of chicken and you’ll understand why this East Coast restaurant is something special. The coconut steamboat concept originated in Shenzhen,and now it’s here to stay on Upper East Coast Road.
Soup base is extremely good. Didn't try the mala version, but the coconut one tastes sweet and smells really good. Among the meats, the pork belly really stood out in my opinion.
soup is light and delicious, price point is good for quality. service is great, albeit a little slow. place is a little too hot even in the evening (we were sitting inside, may be better if you were sitting outside)
