In the popular Punggol district, close to the Promenade, lies Cafe Frienzie, a bar and bistro with a slant towards Western-style cooking. They offer up delicacies that are a million miles away from traditional Singapore cooking, while also remaining popular with both locals and daytrippers alike. Located on Tebing Lane, they are easily reached and well worth a visit – so book a table now and taste it for yourself.
Singapore is a place known around the world for great dining, and the culinary delights are spread wide across the city. Punggol is something of an outpost, facing across the Johore Straits towards Malaysia, but down on Tebing Lane towards the Serangoon River, there are plenty of superb places to eat. Among the best of them is Cafe Frienzie, a bar & bistro with a flair for Western cooking.
Their menu on Tebing Lane in Punggol takes in some of the most popular Western dishes among the dining public of Singapore. Some of the starters on offer include garlic bread and wings, and the mains take in everything from lamb shank, duck breast and sirloin steak to belly pork and fresh fish. If you are looking for a place to eat of an evening in Punggol, you can do far worse than a trip to Cafe Frienzie. To avoid disappointment, making a reservation at Cafe Frienzie Bar & Bistro in advance is recommended!
The place & atmosphere of the place exceeded our expectation for sure. Even though it's an outdoor bar, it was breezy & cooling. The food was delicious and we'll certainly recommend the nachos chips.
The service was good and so were the food. Will try again!
Great service and very friendly staff! We were there with friends who had a new born and the staff were very accommodating to our needs.
Overall it was a great experience despite there were minor hiccups n issues. Otherwise the staff were friendly n food was not too bad as well.
AMBIENCE The ambience is really great where you can chill with your beer while letting time pass and people-watching. It's a great place for conversations also as it's not too noisy. STAFF Generally the staff are quite alert and friendly, however there was this one guy who irritated us as he kept trying to sell fresh oysters to us even though we told him we didn't want them. FOOD 1. Shrimp Aglio Olio - prawns were succulent, chilli was just enough, not too oily 2. Stealth Fries with Cheese Dips - fries were meaty, cheese dip was great 3. Heineken Tower - the usual, and the small cups helped as the beer didn't have to go warm
While the ambience and food is good, the one issue I have is with the server trying to up sell the 2 of us a bottle of wine when we just wanted to have a glass of wine. He even went to the extent of saying that the wine in glass is bad and it is better we order the bottle. In the end we settled for the glass and the wine was totally fine. This is the only thing that marred my experience a bit. Other than that, everything was fine.
We were there at 6PM. The ambiance is great! Despite being a non air-con environment, the dinning place is still very cooling. We love the 1 for 1 Erdinger beer promotion. It is worth the effort coming in a bit earlier. You can order the promo drinks during the happy hours and have it later.
The ambience is beautiful and relaxing, and the food is nice too. The staffs are also friendly but however maybe just one area for improvement is the safety concern when allocating seat for customers with baby. It would be good to find them a table with lesser movement minimizing disruption, e.g. Next to the cashier counter or along the passage way.
The staffs at the restaurant were friendly. The outdoor seating area is nice and relaxing with view of the Serangoon river. It is recommended as a chill out place for friends and dinner getaway for couples.
Nice hangout. Service is on the slow side though. A new staff is very attentive to the bunch of us and quick to attend to our needs despite not able to take orders.
