Thinking about making a Cafe Etc. booking?

While the star of the show at Cafe Etc.’s Upper Thomson Road outlet (along the Sin Ming stretch and close to Marymount station) is undoubtedly their specialty steaks, there’re plenty more on offer. Chef’s specials marked out on the appetizer list include the delectable truffle oil-drizzled fries, sprinkled with parmesan and served with aioli, pan-fried foie gras with seasonal fruit and aged balsamic, and the breakfast essential of perfect eggs benedict. Show a little flesh and grab yourself a so-called topless burger (okay, an open sandwich), with either prime Wagyu or Angus beef, and eye up the fish and chicken dishes on offer – Norwegian salmon steak, confit chicken – but try as you might, you’re not going to be able to resist Cafe Etc.’s specialty steaks, some of the best in Singapore.

Cafe Etc.’s steaks all come with a side of mesclun and garlic mashed potato, as if you really care. Admit it, you irredeemable carnivore, what you’re really after is 200 grams of Australian, grass-fed New York striploin, ribeye, filet mignon (with or without foie gras), or the grade 5 Wagyu rump grain-fed for 400 days plus. But this sizzling Singapore steakhouse doesn’t stop there. There’s a massive 400g rack of Australian, 150-day-grain-fed short ribs, too, tender lamb T-bone steaks, and a classic Surf & Turf platter of grilled salmon, tiger prawns, and Australian striploin for the more omnivorous types. If this sounds up your alley, remember to book, and remember that Cafe Etc.’s Upper Thomson Road bistro can also lay on the steak for private parties.
