Dear diners, Borsalino will be closed for refurbishment work on Sunday 22nd October. We then reopen on Friday 27th October at 5pm for the evening service.
Please also be aware that tables booked online are available for two hours only.
The default destination for those looking to dine Italian in Peterculter, Borsalino has serious pedigree. Established in 1976 and now under second-generation owner Luca Balsamo and his team (including renowned tenor Salvatore), the longevity of Borsalino is the result of a commitment to authentic Italian cuisine and hospitality. So much so that you’ll find people eschewing central Aberdeen eateries in order to take the short trip out to Peterculter to indulge in the restaurant’s signature dishes and be treated to the friendliest service. Besides the main dining room, the Borsalino North Deeside Road address houses a large bar area that can seat up to 35 people for a private dining experience.
When a restaurant has been in the hands of the same family for over thirty years, there is a reason why it’s stood the test of time. And when the same restaurant, open since 1976, is only going from strength to strength, then it simply must be visited. This is the situation at Peterculter restaurant Borsalino, just thirty minutes out of Aberdeen, who have a stellar reputation as serving impeccable Italian cuisine alongside wonderful service, always with a smile.
The menu at Borsalino is an absolute delight with a selection of antipasti, pizza, pasta and secondi mains that will certainly whet your appetite. Try, for example, some starters to share like the bruschetta on crusty Italian bread, affettato misto of cured meat from northern Italy with mozzarella and focaccia or the classic caprese salad. For the main, we love Franco’s homemade lasagna with rich bolognese sauce, vitello limone of escalopes of veal in white wine, with lemon, gratin potatoes and seasonal vegetables or one of the traditional Italian-style pizzas cooked to perfection. You’ll find Borsalino along North Deeside Road in Peterculter out of Aberdeen, where Luca, Franco and the team will blow you away. Bookings are essential.
Friendly immediate welcome. Great service and Italian food at its best. Parking easy. Prices reasonable. Tiramisu one of the best ever.A good way to spend a Sunday lunchtime!
Lovely food and a great atmosphere. Music in the background and attentive staff. First time here and will definitely return in future. Oh, and very reasonably priced.
Amazing authentic italian best in Aberdeen. Never disappoints. Been going here over a number of years extensive menu and fabulous food served by polite very accommodating staff.
Me and my partner had an excellent valentine's meal here. We were seated quickly to a lovely table, decorated tastefully for the occasional that night. The staff were polite and efficient with our orders, and well informed as we had a few curiosity questions. The food was absolutely fantastic, a very memorable meal indeed. The price was very reasonable and I'll happily return for future dining experiences. Thank you Borsalino
I first visited Borsalino’s 7 years ago when I brought my mum back up to Scotland from England for a visit to her home town, Aberdeen. We loved the atmosphere, the simple but well-cooked cuisine & especially the singing! My visit this time was to remember the places my mum had loved & thankfully, Borsalino’s quality hadn’t changed. The only big difference was that this time we booked online, which was a simple process. My partner & I were greeted warmly & our order was swiftly taken. The food was plentiful & tasty. The service was attentive without being intrusive & we had plenty of time to enjoy our food. The only slight downside was that it was a bit cool in the restaurant but I guess that may have had something to do with the outside temperature dropping dramatically! Hopefully it won’t be 7 years before we visit again.
The restraunt is warm,no draughts which I hate. The decor is welcoming and homely,Staff are very attentive and friendly. My partner had steak which was cooked to perfection and I had Tagliatelle with bolognaise sauce which was tasty. Half way through our meal we had the delight of the owner who is Italian seranading everyone in the small but cosy restaurant with his wonderful voice and a few well chosen Italian songs. I would have given a score of 6 (top score) but last visit there was a very nice man quietly strumming a guitar most of the night which I very much enjoyed sadly he wasn't there this time round. But a very enjoyable night. We look forward to visiting again soon. Kim&Robert
Hadn't been to Borsalino for years but heard lots of good things about it so made a point of meeting friends on our way home from weekend away. Food was delicious and staff very pleasant and attentive. Lovely varied menu and all five of our party thoroughly enjoyed their meals.
We're been going to Borsalinos for years but this was the best meal ever. Scallops to start with, then lamb, vegetables and gratin potatoes and a Tia Maria coffee. And some nice red wine to accompany it all. Could not manage desert, far to full. Wonderful!
Very friendly, will go again. Tempted to drop my rating down to a 5 as I find it aggravating to have to write a short story to be allowed to leave feed back for such a good restaurant, but that is not Borsalino's fault.
Excellent as always Luka. Never disappointed to come to Borsalino. The food is fantastic, (top tip - try the ribeye with potato gratin), and the atmosphere is relaxing. Best place to be after a hard week at work.
