About Bird Bird

Dear diners, to reserve for groups of 20 to 25 people, please contact the restaurant directly. For groups larger than 25 people, private booking of the full venue is required.

The brainchild of Bjorn Shen, owner of popular Singapore restaurants Artichoke and Neh Neh Pop and an award-winning chef, Bird Bird is a name that is taking Singapore's culinary scene by storm. Think of fried chicken and you probably think of KFC, but this hip East Coast joint is reinventing the humble fast food favourite. It's not just all about fried chicken at Bird Bird though, expect to find a menu full of comfort food classics and Bjorn’s usual brand of ‘dudestronomy’. Located on Frankel Avenue, Bird Bird draws in guests from all over Singapore – to guarantee a table, making a reservation in advance is recommended.

If you’re bored of Singapore's upscale Asian eateries and try-hard cocktail bars, take a trip over to Bird Bird in the East Coast of Singapore, a comfort food restaurant with a hipster twist. Located on Frankel Avenue, Bird Bird is the perfect place for a casual brunch, lunch or dinner with friends who like dining in a funky setting. Famous around town for their fried chicken, Bird Bird’s signature buttermilk fried chicken is a must try for chicken fiends, marinated in your choice of original and stupid-spicy Old Bay Spice and paired with chunky mash, country sausage gravy, cornbread waffle and green goddess coleslaw.

Other delicious choices on the menu include creative new takes on comfort food classics, like the big mac fried rice (120g USDA grain-fed striploin with a special sauce, burnt cheese, fresh vegetables and a fried egg), and all day brunch options like the grilled cheese sandwich and steak & eggs. Be sure to leave room for dessert because you won’t want to miss out on the ever-changing soft-serve ice cream sundaes, created by Fiona Ting the pastry chef who was recently named as one of six female Rising Stars in Singapore’s food scene for 2016. With its laidback vibe and menu of reinvented American fast food favourites eaten to a soundtrack of funky music, Bird Bird is one the hottest restaurants on Singapore’s East Coast. To snag a seat at this trendy Frankel Avenue joint, booking ahead is advised.

Innovative and creative dishes! Loved the foie gras "toe jam" and truffle fries- smart to make it crunchy shoestring fries. The signature fried chicken is great, perfect with corn bread waffle. We will definitely be back!

Amazing food and service. Food concept are new and interesting, worthy of trying. People are friendly and nice, attentive to details. Definitely worth visiting again.

It was the best waffles and chicken I've ever had. MAC and cheese tasted like the ones you'd eat in front of the tv, warm and homely. And the desserts were just right. The service was prompt.

Very good service from the staff at Bird Bird, maybe even excellent. Little details such as placing the glasses of water and utensils deliberately on each guest's dominant hand and serving the ladies first made a huge difference with mediocre service. So thank you Bird Bird for your attention to detail and pleasantness for our dinner!

The best southern fried chicken in Singapore in my opinion. The cornbread waffles, green beans, and mashed potatoes are all great side dishes. As you can tell, Bird Bird does southern US style cooking, but with a modern twist.

We had the salad platter, fried chicken (southern + thai), milk braised pork, truffle fries and rhulberry dessert. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside - much better than expected. We also enjoyed the salad platter and snapped up the truffle curly fries (which would have been better if they'd put the truffle mayo on the side). Dessert was fair. I don't have a sweet tooth so I definitely won't be able to finish one by myself. Will come back again to try other things on the menu.

The restaurant decided to close earlier just as we arrived. Good that the team squeezed our orders in, if not, this would have been a wasted trip. I suggest that the restaurant updates its partners and social media channels if there are changes to opening times. Also, please note that if you make reservations past 10.30pm, you would only be able to order from the shorter supper menu Otherwise, food was amazing - we had their signature fried chicken, sweet potato buns, chicken / truffle mayo burger. Buns were so-so - tasted tired and flat.

This place serves the best fried chicken I've ever had!!! The food is amazing and the staff are always so friendly & accommodating! Unfortunately their last day of biz at Ann Siang is this Friday (14 Oct).... But they will be opening a new shop (with a different sort of fried chicken!) at Frankel (near Siglap) 😉 Can't wait to try it!!

Note that the flavours are all leaning towards sweet and savoury as well as more heavily seasoned. My friends and I enjoyed the Mac & Cheese as well as the addictive Sticky Fries with that extra bit of heat.
