The Downtown Core of Singapore can be a glamorous place. The centre of the city is filled with flash restaurants and bars of all stripes – we think Aura might be right up there with the very best of them. They have an Italian restaurant and a bar upstairs, known as the Sky Lounge, that provides exemplary views over the Singapore skyline. Pay them a visit on St Andrews Road, close to City Hall, for an experience quite unlike any other – just make sure that you reserve ahead of time to avoid disappointment.
Aura literally elevates Singapore’s restaurant landscape to new heights, occupying a massive 9000 square feet on the upper floors of the National Gallery along St Andrew’s Road, moments from City Hall station. Encompassing a 90-seater Italian restaurant and a huge rooftop Sky Lounge and bar, Aura represents a major achievement for the city’s high culinary culture. The restaurant offers a classically-structured Italian a la carte menu covering appetizers, artisanal pasta dishes, plus a three-course weekday set lunch, a four-course set dinner, and a weekend brunch menu paired with prosecco and Bellini cocktails.
As for the Sky Lounge, from here you can gaze out over the stunning skyline over Marina Bay while enjoying a free-flow salad bar buffet featuring a range of international cuisines, an a la carte weekend brunch menu with distinct Italian influences, or simply enjoy sundowner drinks and premium bar food from 5pm onwards. Book a table at Aura and make a move along to St Andrew’s Road, right by the Parliament of Singapore and the National Gallery of Singapore for an extra special experience.
Food was tasty and nicely plated. Especially the starters. Ambience was ok. Service was good. Waiters were polite. We have no complaints. We had an enjoyable xmas day lunch.
foos is excellent..service is good and food is served on time. .
Fantastic service. Had a special occasion there and had great support from the staff. This place has a wonderful view of the Bay Area on the 6th floor. Intricate attention paid to the layers of tastes to the food. Overall a very good dining experience.
Restaurant is very centrally located and very nicely decorated. Service is excellent too and staff are very attentive. Also, food is very delectable and ambient is good.
The ambient in Aura was great except that it was quite noisy coming from a table of maybe 12 pax chatting away loudly. Being said, everyone is out for a good time so it is somewhat acceptable. The appetisers are very tasteful and well presented. The Foie Gras with Caramelised Apple and Duck Jus are to die for! Grill Octopus with crispy egg and corn are well balanced too. Combination of lightly batter crispy egg with runny yolk with the grill octopus brings a different experience all together. Scallops Crudo with Truffle and Smoked Quail Eggs simply lovely. I am a big fan of truffle and the mixture of flavours were well constructed. Burrata Cheese with Cherry Tomatoes & Black Olives in my opinion was simple and present well. I love Burrata Cheese albeit it being a simple dish it is worth mentioning it here. There wasn't any extra virgin olive oil drizzled over it, so don't forget to request for it before indulging into it. I suppose it was done on purpose leaving the option to the customers to decide as some may not want it on their Burrata Cheese. This was my second time at Aura. I have ordered the same main course Grain-Fed Beef Sirloin Tagliata with Bone Marrow Salad in medium rare. My first experience with this dish was great. The beef was tender and just enough texture for you to enjoy the flavour as you chew into it without much effort. However, last night the beef seemed tougher and sinewy. I was having trouble trying to avoid the sinewy parts from getting stuck in between my teeth. Some effort was required to cut and chew the beef. I would say it wasn't as pleasant as my first experience. Probably it is just my unlucky day getting a piece of sinewy beef. The roasted bone marrow was roasted to perfection. As for the wine list, they do have a great selection but if you want a reasonably priced bottle of wine, it is not going to happen. It will set you back min $100 for a bottle for an average bottle of red. Their range of Chanti in my opinion were priced pretty steep. Overall it was pleasant and I would have given a 6 ratings if I had a better cut of beef.
Enjoyable dining experience at Aura Restaurant. Booked thru Quandoo, Aura staff followed up with a call and on my request, emailed me the menu. Ordered wkend lunch set menu and another crab pasta for sharing between 2 pax. Staff was sharp to notice that the same crab pasta is offered as part of the appetizer with the same sauce and ingredients and instead of getting more of the same, staff suggested we switch to another pasta so we get to try a larger variety. Thankful for the advice. Food was overall delicious and quick to serve, satisfied palate for the day. Staff was engaging during service and obliging when we required help to take photos. Appreciate the attentiveness too, with water refilled frequently without prompts. A little surprised when tea was served for 2 pax and accompanied with generous portion of hazelnuts. Visited the museum after lunch and even came back for drinks in the evening, albeit at the skylounge rooftop bar with a great view. Keep it up Aura.
It took me quite a while to locate the restaurant. But once I got there, the service of the staffs made me very at ease. No pressure at all. I am not very into the type of wine and the server bothered to bring me 3 types to try after understanding my requirements. The food was great. Presentation wise, they are not the most appealing based on my past experience. But the taste of the food is very appetising. The appetisers did actually increase my appetite for more! Taste of all the dishes we had are all not over-bearing which worked well for both me and my wife. The serving staffs continued to be attentive during the meal. Although this is supposed to be a fine dining place, but the staffs always make me feel at ease. After dinner, I was led to the Aura Sky Lounge by the hostess. Kudos to this place and I will definitely be back!
Had a wonderful time at the restaurant. Alvin attended to us and gave us a wonderful recommendation to share starters and 2 pastas (especially the uni pasta) for our group of 6 people. Each of us then chose our own main. Alvin bantered with us through the night and he made our night even more enjoyable. Food was fabulous and service was en pointe. I didn't give it 5 stars as the staff in the upstairs bar dampened our mood. The bar was empty when we arrived at 6pm. We sat down on a sofa with a wonderful view of the Padang. One of the staff finally attended to us after about 10 minutes of waiting and told us the table we were sitting at might be occupied and he would check. When I received a restaurant reservation reconfirmation call earlier in the day, I asked if I need to book a table at the bar, I was told it wasn't necessary and that I could just walk in. Despite being relatively empty, the drinks took another 10 minutes to arrive, with still no word if we could stay at our seats. Finally, when our drinks arrived and I asked if we could stay at the table, I was told that they had to make some re-arrangments, but we could stay. The attitude of the staff was rather off-putting and snotty. I would advise people to go to the bar next door if you want to have drinks before or after your dinner.
Great bar, great restaurant great food. Our waiter was very well informed. 2 suggestions: Make it clear which dishes have peanuts in the preparation - our son is seriously peanut allergic and if he hadn't asked he would have been served a dish with a peanut presentation When I was called to confirm the reservation I was told 'no shorts, no flip flops. THe table next to ours had 2 guys in ...shorts and flip flops (und using their phones throughout the meal' - if you have a dress code please stick to it Apart from that it was great and we will be back - to be honest the standard of fine dining in Singapore is very very low so Aura is a welcome find
Fantastic experience at Aura. The service was impeccable and top notch, from one of the waiters who suggested a more intimate table, to the surprise anniversary cake, to one of the staff who took our luggage we had up to Aura lounge. The pasta mains were excellent, as was the green salad with apple and truffles. The octopus unfortunately was tasteless, even though the texture was just right.
