Great food, fantastic service. My family and I (two children, three adults) attended for dinner on a Friday night. The staff were brilliant and the food and drinks were delicious and timely.

All aspects of our experience were excellent for this type of restaurant. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food was of a high standard. Good size portions, well presented and very tasty. I had the Angus black steak and it was cooked to perfection. My wife had the lamb but thought it was a just slightly overcooked, for her taste, but still of a high standard. I think the paper napkins should be replaced with linen ones and that the glasses used for water could also be of a higher restaurant standard. They were clean and functional but more like something I would use at home. This is why I took one point off. Otherwise a great experience and I am happy to recommend this restaurant. Excellent value for money.

Had a great night with friends and great food !! Service was fantastic ! Loved this when it was Ashcotts and been 3 times now since the change to Sandros ! Not disappointed at all with the change as they have revamped the decor and kept the prices very reasonable !!!

The food was excellent apart from the fact that my medium steak came out well done. Nevertheless it was still tender and very tasty. The wine list was exceptional with top quality wines at reasonable prices. I would highly recommend the Andrew Peace chardonnay at $8 a glass. My only complaints would be the noise level and the the time it took to get our meal. An hour from ordering to delivery. But it was Saturday night so I can't be too critical. The staff were very good even in their busiest time and we were asked about 3 times if everything was ok. I would highly recommend this restaurant although probably best to go outside peak time.

There were 5 in our group. I had the chicken with wild mushrooms and loved it!!! A friend had the pork ribs but didn't like the homemade BBQ sauce as it had star anise, nutmeg(five spice) in it and she was very unimpressed with her meal.Another friend had the lamb loin but wasn't amazed by it, the accompanying vegetables were barely cooked and hard as rocks and the lamb itself lacked flavour for her. My forth friend had the special of fillet Mignon with asaparagus and loved hers. The fifth friend had calamari fritte, this friend was a regular here but said after this she wouldn't be back. The cake selection in the window was small and didn't offer many options, we ended up going someone where else for dessert as the menu desserts didn't appeal to the group.

This was the first time I'd been to Ashcott's. The food was excellent, especially the desert. My lamb was cooked just right and my fiance's steak was cooked exactly how she wanted. The sticky date pudding came surrounded in a rich tasty butterscotch sauce and the chocolate mousse was absolutely amazing. On top of that the service is excellent and friendly. We will definitely be going back, many times I imagine.

The good: Beautifully presented restaurant Staff welcoming and happy to assist Great food choices, and great kids menu too Our starters were delicious The bad: Orders were slow. 45 minutes wait for our starters. Waiter did apologise for long wait and it was fairly busy which is understandable but still an awfully long wait. Some dishes were extremely disappointing, especially for the prices paid. My kids enjoyed their cheeseburgers and chips, oldest daughter loved her calamari, however my honey glaze lamb loin was tough, chewy and hard to cut. Also came across 2 small, sharp and very pointy bones in it. Its only redeeming feature was the beautiful jus that came with it. My husbands scotch eye was the same: very tough to cut, chewy and had no flavour at all. Both meals were either extremely rushed in the cooking process or cheaper cuts of meat were used. For the wait we had to go through and the prices charged it was disappointing to say the least. Either spend the money and get good cuts of meat or maybe look at getting your kitchen processes better organised so the wait isnt so long and the cooking isnt rushed. Sorry to say that we wont be back.....
