More about the restaurant: Akai Fune Japanese Restaurant
Sailing a little red boat of fine Far Eastern cuisine to the little red dot of Singapore, Akai Fune (the name means ‘red boat’ in Nihongo) is a Japanese restaurant whose location in the Singapore Expo centre near Changi Airport is fortunate given that they air-freight much of their essential ingredients in from Japan twice a week. Roll up and order a few dainty pieces of sushi or sashimi, and go izakaya-style with yakitori tsukune skewers and a pint of Asahi. The island state is currently going a little crazy for Thai mookata and Japanese shabu shabu is following closely in its steamboat-dining-style wake, so you’ll be pleased to hear that Akai Fune do fantastic shabu shabu, and ramen too. Find Akai Fune along Expo Drive, just outside hall 3.
