The award-winning Les Amis Group’s JINzakaya is a laidback enclave that recalls old Tokyo train station pubs, offering Singapore locals the chance to drink and dine in proper Japanese izakaya fashion. Japanese cuisine comes in many forms, and at JINzakaya in Singapore’s Little India they’re working hard to create the very best. And workers close to Rangoon Road and the backstreet of Farrer Park Station Road (where you’ll find this izakaya) will appreciate the effort: set lunches like the signature JIN tori ramen with chargrilled chicken and an onsen egg are always popular, as is the katsu curry with Jinzakaya’s special curry gravy and the healthy sake harashu with fresh garden greens, salmon belly and a homemade ponzu dressing. The price is fantastic, and each set lunch main comes with a hot or cold hojicha.
When evening rolls around and local workers start looking for a place to decompress with colleagues, JINzakaya’s yakimono skewers begin to make a whole lot of sense. Choose from 19 varieties of delicious grilled skewers and ten main dishes, from classic chicken thighs and mid-wing joint skewers to indulgent foie gras and MBS 4 Wagyu sticks. Grilled mains like the bacon-wrapped king prawns and the generous slab of medium-rare MBS 8 Australian Wagyu steak are recommended options.
